My Hopes For 2019

Happy New Year! If you read my recent post (which you can find here), you will know that 2018 was by far the best for me. However, 2019 is already set to be even bigger, and better.

I thought that it would be a nice idea to do a brief little summary of my hopes for the coming months, because writing things down always helps me to feel more organised, and then I can look back on it as time goes by to see whether I stuck to my word, or not.

This year's the one where I prepare to sit my final A-Level exams in the Summer, which will determine whether I get into University in September. I have always been a hard-worker, but this year, I'm going to have to ramp it up quite significantly to get to where I want to be.
- I want to ensure that I achieve good grades, so that I can get into my first choice University to study my desired course.
- Alongside this, I want to try and start making more of my own money. My book will be available to pre-order at some point this month, which will hopefully generate a decent amount of income, but I'm also hoping to take on some other projects, or even a part-time job if the right one arises. I always like to have at least 1 or 2 side hustles that I can work on alongside my education!
- Having said that, I also hope to start thinking about a potential 2nd book concept, because being an author has always been an interest of mine, and to be able to make that another element of my career that continues to expand would be a dream come true.
- I want to try and get my creativity 'out there' a bit more. I want to write for various publications, and get my words seen globally.
- I want to carry on growing, and developing my blog in every aspect.

I've always been a keen bean when it comes to travelling, and exploring the world. I've been to quite a few places, both in the UK, and abroad throughout my life, but that's nowhere near as many as I hope to visit by the time I'm old, and wrinkly.
- This year, particularly towards the Summer, and the latter half, I hope to get better at navigating my way around. If this means using Google Maps, or asking for help off a stranger, then so be it, but if I want to get anywhere in the future, I'll have to get better at public transport, and finding my way around new places.
- As a continuation from that last point, I want to see as many places as I can. I already have a trip booked to Venice, which I'm going to be taking full advantage of, but I'm intrigued to see what other plans are going to be made throughout the year.

I'm the sort of girl, who always has personal goals. To be honest, 2018 was a mad year for personal growth, but I still have some things that I want to work on this year, and beyond too...
- I want to start doing the little things to look after myself more. In 2018, I started eating much better, and regularly going to the gym, but I still feel like I can up my game. I want to make more of an effort to look after my skin, walk more places that are easy access, instead of being lazy, and asking for a lift all of the time, get up, and dressed 95% of the time, even if I'm just staying at home, and remember to wash my face, and brush my hair each morning (lol).
- I want to read, and write even more. I didn't read much at all during 2018, but being a writer, it's naturally one of my favourite hobbies, so rather than watching YouTube all the time, I want to try and dedicate at least 30 minutes - 1 hour of reading/writing each day.
- I want to be more conscious about what I consume. A lot of the time, I follow so many random accounts on social media, or I have contacts that I don't wish to associate with anymore, and so in 2019, I want to banish them. I want to only make room for the people that I genuinely want to know, and spend time with. Of course, it always varies throughout the year, but that's the whole point of life - it's a learning process! This goes hand in hand with the idea of having a social media detox, so taking some days where I don't excessively use my phone, and spend my time more wisely, and productively.
- I want to pass both my driving theory, and my practical, and I think that's a pretty attainable goal to be honest. I have my theory booked for the end of January (eeep), and my driving lessons have been considerably improving recently, which is such a relief, especially as I've been having them on, and off since March. Here's hoping that I'll have a complete driving license this time next year.
- I want to practise photography more often. Any time I go out, or visit a pretty place, I want to take my camera, and document those adventures on both my Instagram, and my blog.
- I want to make more of an effort when it comes to cooking, and baking. I've always been a lover of baking, but I can't really cook to save my life, but meals are always healthier, and at their tastiest when their homemade, so I'm going to work on that this year.

Finally, what do I hope will happen with my blog in 2019?
- Towards the latter part of the year, I started blog coaching with the ever so lovely, and incredibly knowledgeable Vix Meldrew, and she's already helped me MAHOOSIVE amounts. I'm really starting to niche down my content, and only produce top quality posts on topics that I'm genuinely interested in talking about. I always tend to get a bit lazy with promotion/photography too, so I want to try, and keep that a little bit more consistent if I can too.
- I want to work with more brands that I'm genuinely passionate about, whether they're big, or small, new, or well established. I want to always aim to build up a relationship with a brand, rather than work with them on a whim, hence why I'm more picky these days.
- I really would like to start making more of an income from my blog. I've been lucky enough to earn a little bit here, and there in the past, but if I'm going to take my blog more seriously, and eventually turn it into a part-time job, then I'll have to formulate a plan as to how I'm going to effectively get there.

I can think of a few more things off the top of my head, but I think that's all I'm going to share for now, as otherwise this post would go on until January 2020! I hope you all had a happy, and safe New Years Day, and I look forward to seeing what's to come for us all.

Love and light always,
