Printed Trousers Are The 'In Thing'

Here's a fun fact for you all: When I was around 9 or 10 years old, I actually wanted to be a fashion designer. I know hardly any of you would have imagined that to be the truth, seeing as my fashion posts are few and far between on my blog, but it is! I used to plan outfits allll the time and I'd ring my Grandma regularly, telling her that a blue polka dot vest top would go with a light yellow skirt and a pair of tan ugg boots - I mean, that's how I imagine my thought processes regarding coordination to have been like back then anyway! I used to continuously play Style Boutique on my Nintendo DS. Believe me when I say it was my younger selves dream.

It's safe to say that times have changed quite considerably since then. I no longer feel destined to be the next Coco Chanel (yes, I did have to shamelessly Google famous fashion designers just then...) and I don't ring my Grandma every evening, hoping to be a renowned stylist at London Fashion Week.

However, I do still have a keen interest in design and creating different outfits and I'm a sucker for a New Look sale, which, combined with my personal photographer (aka my Mumma atm), means that I'm able to produce this kind of content for you guys! You don't necessarily have to read a whole heap of writing, but you still get to see me posing for them candid shots. What more could you want in a post?!
Top - New Look
Trousers - ASOS (Rock & Religion)
Shoes - Accessorize
Necklace - Statement Made Jewellery
Jacket - New Look

The main feature of this outfit is evidently (if you have read the title) my printed trousers. I ordered them from ASOS back in February, as I needed some new wintery jumpers for Sixth Form and I was in the mood to be bold, so when I saw these trousers, even though they are more Summer appropriate, and it was expected to snow around that time, I knew I had to get them whilst they were almost half price. I can't go missing out on a bargain, especially as a blogger!

I find that going for printed trousers is better than going for printed tops, because you can really go to town with your choices, as the bottom half of your body is always more noticeable than the top in my opinion. I got them in a size bigger than what I would normally go for nowadays since starting personal training, because I think with this style, it's better to go baggy and floaty.

Not only are they easy and effortless to pair with any top and shoes of your choice, but they are also high-waisted and have a wide-cut leg, which makes them perfect to wear in this hotter weather we have been having. The outfit that I have styled together today is ideal for me. I feel confident, I feel sassy and I feel empowered. They really bring out your curves if you have them too, which is always a bonus!

How do you feel about printed trousers? Would you be likely to wear this style or would you shy away?

Lots of love always,
