Printed Trousers Are The 'In Thing'

Here's a fun fact for you all: When I was around 9 or 10 years old, I actually wanted to be a fashion designer. I know hardly any of you would have imagined that to be the truth, seeing as my fashion posts are few and far between on my blog, but it is! I used to plan outfits allll the time and I'd ring my Grandma regularly, telling her that a blue polka dot vest top would go with a light yellow skirt and a pair of tan ugg boots - I mean, that's how I imagine my thought processes regarding coordination to have been like back then anyway! I used to continuously play Style Boutique on my Nintendo DS. Believe me when I say it was my younger selves dream.

A Visit To Loughborough University

As I have already mentioned in my previous post about my Open Day experience at the University of York, I went and visited Loughborough University the day before. I'd had the weekend planned for quite a while, but whereas I knew quite a bit about the city of York beforehand, I didn't even really know where Loughborough was located until I'd started planning the Open Day and then arrived there.

THE Most Versatile Eyeshadow Palette...?

For my 17th birthday, which was already 4 months ago (wow...), I was fortunate enough to receive this W7 Delicious Eyeshadow Palette from one of my close girlfriends. W7 is one of those affordable, high-street brands that I have always heard about through the likes of social media, but I've never actually tried out any of their products for myself, so I was quite intrigued to say the least when I received this gift.

Visiting York: The City of Dreams

York Minster
During the evening of June 30th, myself, my Aunt and my Uncle all spent a couple of hours exploring York's city centre, after we had been to an Open Day at Loughborough University. We had already booked our 1 night stay at a Holiday Inn and as we had already done a lot of travelling, we thought that it would be better for us to explore the city of York during the evening before going to the Open Day the following morning and so that's what we did.

What I Learnt In My First Job

I started working in a local McDonald's restaurant this February, a month before I turned 17. I worked fairly consistently throughout my first handful of shifts and I liked knowing that I was doing something which I was going to benefit from in the long run. However, I didn't request to be scheduled in for any shifts during March, because I didn't feel I had the time or the energy. Everything was quite intense and I felt that working on top of that would just finish me off entirely. I was back at it all throughout April, May and for the majority of June too. Now, at the end of June, as I write this post, I don't believe that sticking at my crew member job would be the right decision for me anymore. I have come to the pretty tough decision to hand in my notice and go on the search for a new job, despite only lasting in my first one for a mere amount of months. As a way of reflecting on what I've learnt in my first job out in the real world, I thought I'd write this post today...

To Me

Dear Jadey,

This life hasn't been easy to you at the best of times. There have been plenty of hurdles that you have faced throughout your 17 years on this Earth so far, but there have also been some magical, memorable moments that will most likely stick with you forever.
