My Holy Grail Hair Care Tool

Most of you may not be aware of this, but I've always had a love-hate relationship with my hair. It used to be more like strawberry blonde little ringlets, and since then, it's changed a lot. Over time, I found that it naturally become more of a light brown, and it turned wavy rather than curly, but the fringe that formed wasn't quite so cute by the time I reached the age of 8, and started wearing glasses! I'd actually go as far as to say it was quite a tragic look, but one which I eventually grew out of by the time I started secondary school, much to my relief.

Over the years, I've admittedly dyed it quite a few times. For the most part, my mum would whip out those horrible plastic gloves, and use any decent looking kit from Boots, or Superdrug, just like my grandma used to do for my sister throughout her later teenage life. I went red, darker brown, black, and then in between it would turn gingery with either black, red, or blonde patches, and roots. What a sexy look I had going on back in the day.

It was always particularly greasy when I had a fringe, and although I'd make sure to condition thoroughly, the regular brushes I'd reach for would quite literally rip all my hair out, and not exactly work wonders for the knots.

However, I saw so many people speaking highly about the tangle teezer, and after coming across endless positive reviews, I asked my grandma if she could pick one up for me! This one that I've got now (photographed above), I've easily been using it religiously for at least 5 or 6 years, and I've genuinely never looked back! I do still have a paddle brush, and a couple of different combs that I use, but whenever I'm in the shower, out of the shower, or if my hair is at a manageable length, I'll always reach for this trusty tool. It works an absolute treat at detangling, and smoothing the conditioner through the mid-lengths to ends, because any other brush would just collect loads of hairs, and destroy my locks. I find it really easy to hold, and grip in my hand, so it's perfect to reach for without any fuss. Mine is in the 'Pink Fizz' shade (so I believe), which I have loved for years, but there are so many different styles, and colours available now that next time, I won't be so basic!

In my opinion, I would always invest in 1) a proper, high quality hairbrush and 2) a high quality, luxurious styling tool of your choice, whether that be a hairdryer, straighteners, or curlers. Tangle Teezer now have brushes particularly for thick, curly hair, salon type brushes (similar to the one I use, but more professional!), aqua brushes specifically for the shower or bath, kids ranges, smoothing tools, back combing brushes, and even a compact groomer for men! They really do tailor for everyone's needs.

The prices typically vary from £11-20, but it does entirely depend on what you're after. On their website, they actually offer you the chance to find out which one is best suited for your hair, and your wishes through providing a whole load of information, and videos! I'll definitely be picking up a few more when I get the chance, because who doesn't love new haircare products to get those luscious locks they have always desired?!

If you want to find out more, go to, or your nearest beauty retailer.

Have you got a Tangle Teezer? What do you like about it?

Lots of love always,
