My Perfect Movie Night*

 
I've had this post sitting in my drafts for months now and I'm only just getting round to writing it up! I'm really happy that I've now got time to get my teeth stuck into it though, because I think it's something really cool and unique, which I'm sure many of you will also love.

 
All of us love having a movie night every once in a while, don't we? Whether it's Netflix, a box set, or just a collection of childhood favourites, it's something that always proves to be a hit for everyone. I never really have movie nights, but it's something that I definitely want to start happening more often, because I feel like it's something that you can't go wrong with!
 
Even though watching the movies themselves is obviously one of the main things, the snacks are just as vital in my opinion! I've got a real sweet tooth and if you know me well, then you'll have picked up on the fact that I'm a right foodie. Whether it's pizza, popcorn, crisps, cake, chocolate - if it's anything that allows me to stuff my face, then you can count me in!
 
Having said that though, all of these sweet treats can be very unhealthy and they aren't exactly the best thing to be putting into your body. I'm not saying that you have to stop snacking, because I mean, let's face it, that's not really possible when having a movie night, but have you ever considered guilt-free snack options?
 
Let's set the scene here and make it really realistic. Imagine we are all having our own movie night together. I mean, that's the ideal dream! I'm not sure that my house would fit in over 400 people, but hey, maybe one day we can have some sort of movie night meet up!
 
I'd love for all of my very best blogger friends to be there if I were to have the most Tumblr inspired movie night, particularly all of the TTATB girls! Now, I don't know about you, but I'd have to have a movie marathon, as opposed to just watching one film. It's much more exciting that way and it just means that it will last longer, which is obviously a bonus! We would all get to pick one of our favourite movies each. That way we would have a good, diverse selection. We may not all have the same taste, but that's okay, because it will allow us to step out of our comfort zone and enjoy something different. As there would mainly be just a group of us girls relaxing together for the evening, I'd want to make sure that my movie of choice was really comical and light-hearted, so I'd have to go for 'Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging' - I mean, come on, it's a classic! It's romantic and girly, but without being too romantic to the point where some of us teens may want to throw up before we've even had the sweet treats! When picking your selection for movie night marathons, you have to make sure that there's some light-hearted and funny and then others, which are tense and not quite so airy-fairy!
 
As for the location, it would be in the living room, because I have quite a large one, as far as living rooms go! Even though we could just spread ourselves out on the floor and the sofas, I don't think that idea would be creative, or anywhere near as fun as what I have in mind. Why don't we just build our own indoor blanket fort instead?! It would be so much cosier and so much cuter. How many of you would be up for that?! There would be fairy lights (I've got some glittery butterfly ones!), colourful cushions, blankets - the works!

Then, that's where the snacks come in. First and foremost, if you have a 'perfect' movie night without popcorn, then it's clearly not perfect - I mean, surely popcorn is the main essential?! If you eat too much of it though, which can often happen when having a movie marathon, then you could end up putting excessive amounts of fat into your body, which isn't fun if movie marathons are something that you like to have on a regular basis.

If you're in need of some guilt-free snack ideas, then I'm here to help you out! As I've already said, I'm a sucker when it comes to anything sweet, so I'm definitely going to have to take my own ideas into consideration much more often too.

We all know that popcorn is an essential, but surprisingly enough, there are actually guilt-free options available. Who would have known? The one that I would recommend going for is SkinnyPop. It comes in 6 different flavours, 2 of which are fairly new and they are; Original, Sea Salt & Pepper, White Cheddar, Naturally Sweet (this would be my personal favourite!), JalapeƱo and Dusted Dark Chocolate. You really do get a diverse selection, so you're pretty spoilt for choice! There's no artificial flavours, or ingredients, no gluten, no dairy and nothing else that may result in you piling on the pounds if you eat it all of the time. So really, you can eat it whenever you want without feeling too bad about it!
 
As well as popcorn, I'm always a sucker for anything chocolate. Whether it's an actual bar of Cadburys Dairy Milk, melted chocolate with strawberries, or a food that has chocolate in it, I just can't resist. Strawberries with melted chocolate would probably be the best option out of all of these, but you can always have a selection of fruit to dip in if strawberries aren't your thing, such as bananas, grapes, apples, or whatever else you fancy.
 
Maybe you're a fan of fruit, but you don't want the chocolate. That's also completely fine! Why don't you try making fruit pops instead? They're a healthier alternative to ice-cream, and all of your favourite fruits can be included too, so it's really a win-win situation.
