Affordable Eye Shadow Palettes

We all know just how expensive makeup can be sometimes. All of the hyped up eye shadow palettes seem to be from either Too Faced, Urban Decay, Stila, MAC, or some other high-end brand that half of us teenage girls probably can't afford to keep splashing the cash on anyway. What about the palettes that are just as good, if not better, which you can easily get on the high-street? I know that quite a few high-end brands are now available in Boots stores, but still, that's besides the point here, right? More affordable brands (well, for me anyway!), such as Seventeen and MUA do some amazing eye shadow palettes for just a couple of pounds - and you get at least 12 shades in quite a few of them anyway, which is just a bonus!
Today, I'm going to be talking about 2 of my favourites that you can buy in your local Boots or Superdrug. I hope you find this post somewhat useful!

Seventeen Easy On The Eye Palette in 'Birthday Suit' / £7.99 - If you didn't already know, I have actually already done a separate post, talking all about this palette, which you can go and read here. However, I wanted to include it in this post too, because not only is it a palette that, for what it contains, is as cheap as chips, but it's also one of my favourites too. Let me just start off by saying that there's not a single shade in here, which I wouldn't use at some point. They are all completely wearable, whilst still being incredibly versatile and that's not always the case in every palette that I've seen. They are all quite light and fairly neutral, but there's a mixture of both matte and shimmer, which is exactly what I like when looking for a collection of eye shadows to keep all in one place. They are so pigmented, regardless of how light they are and they are also very creamy and blendable, which is always a plus when it comes to eye shadows, because a lot of people have to deal with creasing or fall out, and as far as I'm aware, that's not an issue that occurs with this palette! I've created some really pretty, day-time appropriate looks before and I would go as far as to say that this is a palette, which I would consider to be my 'go to', regardless of what kind of look I'm going for. It also comes with an eye shadow primer, which is probably not the best, but still, it's featured in the palette and it can be used alongside the shadows, so I think it's quite a nifty little addition! Seventeen have really been upping their game with their brand recently and I'm super impressed. They also have another palette from this 'Easy On The Eye' range called 'The Big Smoke', which (hence the name, which is a bit of a giveaway) has smokier, darker shades to it if that's more your cup of tea. Have you ever tried this palette? What do you think of Seventeen?
MUA Heaven & Earth Palette / £4.00 - Next up is a palette that was all the rave a couple of years back. If you were an avid YouTube watcher or Blogger reader back in the day, then you would have probably heard every girl and their best friend talking about this little gem non-stop. I am, of course, talking about the MUA Heaven & Earth Palette. Now, I'm pretty sure most of you actually own this selection of shadows in your collection somewhere, because I mean, most people do, but if for some crazy reason you don't, then I'm about to tell you all of the reasons why you should! I'm going to start off by saying that pretty much all of the shades are shimmery, as far as I can tell. So, if you aren't all about that glitter ball life, then this may not be the palette for you. There's a mixture of pearlescent, creamy whites, warm, toasty gold's, and deep, chocolate browns. You honestly can't go wrong! I'll probably do a separate post in the near future, showing you different looks that you can create with this palette, but really, the list is just endless! It's known to be a dupe of the Urban Decay Naked Palette, so it could save you a good £30 or more - what a bargain! See, I literally just give all of you the most affordable options.
Anyway, I really hope you enjoyed reading this post and that you found it somewhat helpful to you, particularly if you're a teenage girl, or anyone else on a budget.
Let me know if you have tried out either palettes or any others from either Seventeen or MUA and I'll be sure to check them out. We're all here to help each other find the best beauty bargains, after all!
Lots of love always,
Jade xo
