The Truth About You Tag / Collab

This post has been in the pipeline for quite a while now, and that's one of the reasons as to why I'm so excited to finally be posting it! Another reason is, of course, because it's a collaboration with a gorgeous girl, who's quickly become one of my very good blogging friends! I'm talking about the lovely Leonie from PrettyRainClouds, if you hadn't already heard through talk on both of our social media sites! Whilst you're at it, you should definitely give her a cheeky, little follow. Well, I know I would if I were you! If you do want to make her day, as it would be rude not to, you can go and do so here.

We came up with the idea of creating our very own tag, because we thought that it would be super fun, and also a great way to get to know all of our readers on a much more personal level. I mean, who doesn't want to get to know more about the people who are reading their posts? After all, you know so much about us and our lives, so it only seemed right. There's nothing wrong with being a little nosey either!

'The Truth About You Tag' is split up into 4 sections, consisting of 4 questions in each. In this tag that we have created, there's an ‘about you’ section, a ‘blogging’ section, a ‘beauty’ section and then also a ‘random’ section. You're allowed to nominate as many people as you want, so feel free to do so! If you do end up answering the questions, please let myself and Leonie know, because we would obviously love to read your posts too! You can tag us on our social media or you can leave a comment with links on either or both of our posts!

So, without further ado, let's get on with the questions...

About You:

1. How would you best describe yourself in three words? - I would describe myself as being empathetic, giggly and thoughtful. I always try my best to understand other people, I'm forever giggling or cracking jokes about something and I'm just genuinely thoughtful in the way that I act towards other people.

2. What would you say is one of your biggest achievements so far? - Technically, the answer that I'm going to give are two achievements that are rolled into one. So, my biggest achievement so far is without a doubt starting up my blog, but alongside that, an equally big achievement is starting up the #teenageteam, which, for those of you who don't know, is the project that myself and Lauren from Tea Stained Lauren set up back in June to try and make the teenage blogging community much better for everyone who's involved!

3. What are some of your main hobbies? - Photography, reading, blogging and baking.

4. What would you say is one of your favourite qualities about yourself? - I'd probably have to say how strong I am. No, I don't mean I lift the heaviest weights possible every single day, but I mean, I'm emotionally strong. I've been through a lot, but I still try to go through each day with a smile on my face, ready to spread positivity to other people. Now, if that isn't an example of strength, then I don't know what is!

1. What/who inspired you to start blogging? - Well, I'm going to give quite a funny, yet also slightly typical answer here. Ever since I was literally about 9 years old, I'd watch YouTube videos from the likes of Zoella, Tanya Burr, Sammi Maria, Grace Victory, Brogantatexo and a few other YouTubers that are still around today. Those are just the main ones that I can think of off the top of my head. After I'd gotten into the whole Internet thing, I decided that I wanted to give it a go myself about 5 years later. It was actually a friend at the time that spontaneously suggested the idea, but ultimately, I'd been playing around with the thought in my head for aaages and I just needed that little push to bite the bullet and go for it! I haven't looked back ever since. Even though I'm not really friends with that person anymore, I do appreciate the encouragement, even if she didn't quite realise at the time how immensely this decision would impact my life.

2.  What do you find to be the hardest part of blogging? - When it comes to blogging, I guess everyone has different, varying opinions. Some people may find interacting with fellow bloggers very difficult, whereas other people may struggle with starting out. I personally find producing unique content the most difficult thing. I try to always introduce different series into my blog and they usually go down pretty well, but I do feel like there's always some sort of pressure to be unique and to stand out from the crowd, because ultimately, if you don't stand out in someway, then people just aren't going to pay any attention to you. I guess that's just the way it goes!
3. Who are some of your favourite teenage bloggers? - I kid you not, I could quite literally write up an entire post all about my favourite teenage bloggers. I'm not going to do that right now, but I can do that in the near future if it's something you would be interested in? All of the #teenageteam obviously make their way into my selection of favourite teenage bloggers, but if you want to find out more about each of them individually, then head on over to our blog (cheeky plug right there) where you will be able to do so. Some other favourites include; Olivia Redfern, Petite Ellie, Aoife Ranyell, and Leonie (that just goes without saying, considering I'm doing a collab with her, right?).
4. What is your main blogging goal for the rest of the year? - All I really want to focus on for the rest of this year in terms of blogging is the quality of my photography and images. I've used various different digital cameras before, but for some reason or another, they just completely died on me! Since then, I've just reverted to using my phone, which has actually done me pretty well, if I'm honest. I'm hoping to invest in a proper, high-quality camera during the end of the year, but I guess we'll have to see whether that plan actually goes accordingly! I also want to stick to a setup, because at the moment I take all of my photos, bar the outfit/fashion ones in my bathroom, so it would be nice if I could make the images look even prettier!
1. If you could only own one specific type of makeup product what would it be and why? - Mascara, without a shadow of a doubt! My eyelashes are already quite long and black, but I just love layering on coats and coats of mascara - it gives me a real confidence boost to know that my eyes pop! They are also my favourite physical attribute that I have, so it's nice to make them stand out, I guess!
2. If you had your own beauty brand what would you name it and what would you sell?
As part of my business coursework, I'd call it ‘The Beauty Boutique’, even though, according to my research, it's already been taken twice - oops! I'm not that original at the moment, but this counts as initial ideas, right? We could always just work to develop it in the near future! I'd focus on bringing out the best in people's attributes. Copper eyeshadows for blue eyes, plum eye shadows for brown and green eyes. Products for different skin tones, spots, redness. You get my drift.
3. What's your go to, everyday makeup look at the moment? -
I'm really digging (I've never said that word before..) a glowy, fresh-faced, peachy look. Just concealer, blush, highlight (obvs), mascara, eyebrows, a few eye shadows blended and a lipstick! Well, now it's summer anyway.
4.  Are you more of a high-street or high-end kinda gal? - High-street, for sure! Affordable, yet still just as amazing, if not, sometimes even more so than high-end!
1. If you created an animal, what features would it have? -
A mixture of an elephant and a dolphin and an owl. Super crazy, but just a mixture of my favourites! Maybe it could be an elephant face and ears, but a dolphin type texture for the skin and an owl body with the wings and feathers, because that's just tooo cute!!
2. If you could possess one talent, what talent would it be? - I'm not even going to lie, but I'd probably have to say invisibility! That sounds absolutely awful and I'm sure some people are going to judge me for it, but I'm a nosey kinda gal. That's just the way it is, I'm afraid! I'm always listening in to conversations that I shouldn't be listening to, or I'm snooping around trying to act like some detective, who's on a mission to put the pieces of a puzzle together. Oh well, I think invisibility would be awful, as long as I didn't see or hear things that are unpleasant!
3. Imagine you're hosting a special event - what 3 celebrities would you invite and why?
Demi Lovato, Tyler Blackburn and Adele.
Demi because she's inspiring, sassy, bad-ass and I can learn a lot from her and ask her any burning questions that I've had since like, forever. Tyler, because he's just dreamy and we can talk about Pretty Little Liars and all of the cast and the episodes and how he finds it and all of that fun stuff, of course and Adele, because I mean, it's Adele for goodness sake. She's a queen. I love her humour, I'd get her to rap Nicki Minaj and I'd also find out more about her, her teenage years and maybe get some words of wisdom whilst I'm at it! And get her to sing for me - maybe she could even do a duet with Demi?? It could go viral guys, okay? Oh, and let's not forget the group selfie. Let's make it happen - one day?
4. If money was no option when it comes to the lifestyle you want to lead, but if you could only
live in one OTHER country for the rest of your life, where would you live and why? -

I'm gonna have to give a typical answer and say America. The celebs, the events, the shops, the atmosphere - the luxury! Wow, wouldn't we all just love a life like that?

That's it for today's post! Hopefully you enjoyed finding out about our tag and reading the answers that I gave you all. Don't forget to go and take a peek at Leonie’s blog here to have an insight into her life and see the answers she gave to these questions too. Why don't you show her some love whilst you're at it too?! If you take part in our tag, then please do let both of us know, either through social media or by leaving comments on these posts, as we would absolutely adore to read your replies!

Lots of love always,

Jade xo
