Monthly Memories: May

20.05.16

So, another month has just completely flown by. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels that way? Today, I'm going to be sharing with you some of the memories I have from the month of May. I don't have the most diverse selection of pictures for you, but I have picked out some of my favourites that I thought you would like to see!

I'd just like to point out that even though I do these posts every month and they are mainly photography based, I do actually have a lot of memories that aren't able to be photographed and shown here on my blog. I always make a list in my notes on my phone every single month and whenever something good happens or makes me feel proud of myself, I write it down, so that I can remember it and then reflect on it.

Let's start off with some of the memories that aren't captured through a photograph:

- I pre-ordered my very own signed copy of Tanya Bakes! / 6th May
- I received some letters through a bloggers project called #beechat / Throughout May
- I reached 400 followers over on Twitter / 16th
- I did a collab with one of my favourite blogging girls Eleanor / 16th
- I started speaking to some lovely blogging girlies, who I have begun to build friendships with / Throughout May
- I paid for a blog button and an advertising spot for next month! / 17th

My Go To Summer Lip Shades // Collab

Today's post is going to be a collab with the gorgeous Mollie. You can check out her blog here or you can follow it here. She's also doing a post on her go to summer lip shades, so you must make sure you go and check it out and give her some love. She's honestly so kind and she's quickly becoming one of my best blogging friends!

Although I have done some similar posts to this before, I personally feel as though you can never have too many lipsticks. Do you feel the same or is it purely a thing that only beauty bloggers understand? Well anyway, I'm going to be talking about my go to summer lip shades today. Even though they are all lipsticks, I have also picked out some lip liner options that you can pair with them, so you won't be stuck for ideas, don't you worry!
I have picked out 4 of my favourite nude options and then another 4 of my favourite pink options, so I'm sure you will find at least 1 shade that you like and may want to try out.

L-R: Soap & Glory 'Super Nude', L'Oreal 'Eva's Nude', Kate Moss '03' and Elizabeth Arden 'Desert Rose'

Let's start off by talking about my favourite nude shades...

Another nude that I absolutely adore is the Kate Moss one in the shade '03'. This is a deeper, nudey brown shade, which is suitable for any skin tone, in my opinion. I don't think that you can go wrong with any nude, despite what particular type it is, but you definitely can't go wrong with this one from Kate Moss' collection! It applies ever so nicely to the lips and I also really like the finish, because it's quite creamy and softening, which is what I tend to go for when wanting to purchase a new lipstick. The packaging is very sleek and sophisticated too, so it will look pretty if you get it out to apply during the day or even if you want to have it on show on your dressing table. I mean, this is Kate Moss we're talking about! The lady is very sleek and sophisticated herself, so she is naturally going to make sure that the collection she brings out reflects that side of her too. I would also suggest applying the Elizabeth Arden 'Bare' Lip Liner under this shade too. Although this is quite a neutral shade and it doesn't have any shimmery, it isn't extremely matte to the point where it makes your lips look dry and flaky. It makes them look supple and glossy, which is another positive point to consider, because nobody likes having crusty lips, do they? How unattractive is that?!

First up is the Soap & Glory 'Super Nude' Lipstick. This was my favourite colour for such a long time and then for some reason, I just completely stopped wearing it. I guess that's what happens when you have an extreme amount of different options - you just forget what you have eventually! Although you don't get as much product as you do with your average lipstick, I do still love it none-the-less. The shade is quite literally your perfect, everyday wearable nude. Well, I guess all 4 of these options are really, but I do have to say that out of all of them, I did go through a stage where I wore this the most. It's incredibly moisturising and it also stays on well throughout the day, which is always a good thing if you're the type of person that doesn't like to constantly reapply your lipstick all of the time. If I were to put this shade on top of any lip liner, it would have to be one from Elizabeth Arden in the shade 'Bare'. They are both really similar shades as it is and so I feel as though they compliment each other perfectly. I understand that not everyone can afford to spend so much money on a lip liner if it's practically the same as the lipstick, but if you are able to or if you ask for it as a gift, then I would definitely suggest doing so!

How many of you have heard of, and love, Eva Longoria? Well, if you're one of those people, then I'm pretty sure you must have heard that she bought out her own lipstick shade, as part of the L'Oreal Collection Privee Range a while ago. It's a range where a few different well-known celebrities decided to create their perfect nude and then allow their fans to purchase them for their local drugstore - how cool is that?! I'm not saying that I'm a huge Eva Longoria fan myself, because if I'm quite honest, I don't even really know what she's all about (please don't kill me..), but I really like this shade anyway. This one in particular is called 'Barely Golden', which, as the name suggests, has a hint of golden shimmer running through it, which I genuinely do think is just absolutely gorgeous. I feel like it's a really sophisticated shade, which would go perfect to finish off a bronzed, sun-kissed look. Keep your eyes peeled, as I may just be featuring it in some more posts to come! I also love the packaging, can I just say? It's so luxurious! I would personally pair this with the Rimmel Lip Liner in 'Tiramisu'. They are both from the drugstore, meaning that they are affordable, so you can buy them together and create the perfect nudey brown lip look to complete that bronze goodness look that some of you (myself included) may be going for during these summer months.

The final nude that I have been loving lately is the Elizabeth Arden 'Desert Rose'. I received this, alongside their 'Bare' Lip Liner from my older sister for my birthday and I just fell in love with the combination ever since! I didn't know if it would particularly suit me at first, but it honestly is the prettiest combination. I genuinely do feel like a goddess when I wear it - I'm not even joking! They are on the pricier side, as far as lipsticks go, but there's no harm in treating yourself every once in a while, is there? This is actually the darkest nude out of all of the 4 that I have chosen, but I think it's just too flattering to not mention. It's got quite a lot of shimmer to it, so if that isn't your cup of tea, then maybe this shade isn't the one for you, but I personally love it, especially at this time of year. It can really finish off a look and no matter how simple or how dramatic you have gone, you can always find a way to make this work! It also goes very nicely with the Rimmel 'Tiramisu' Lip Liner, so if you just want to splash out on this lipstick and then keep it more affordable for the lip liner so you don't break the bank completely, then you'll get pretty much the same exact look anyway, just by splurging a tiny bit less, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Now, it's time to talk about the pink shades that I have been reaching for recently. I would say that as well as the nudes, they are definitely appropriate to wear all year round, but I do like to have a certain set of shades that are better suited towards the winter months and then another set that are better for the summer months and these just so happen to be the ones that I have picked out to wear for the summer months.

I'm going to kick-start this off by talking about yet another Kate Moss lipstick. She really does have a lovely collection by Rimmel, so even if you don't like the shades that I'm speaking up today, you can find some nice shades throughout the rest of the collection anyway, so it might be worth taking a look next time your browsing the aisles in Boots or Superdrug. Anyway, I'm starting to rant again, aren't I? Oops! My sister and I actually have this exact lipstick in the same shade as each other. Surprisingly enough, even though we are both obsessed with makeup, I don't think we really have too many lipsticks that are the exact same shade, but this one is an exception. I've included it under the 'pink' category, but actually, I'd say that it's more of a peachy, coral kinda shade. I usually shy away from shades like this, because I worry that they will wash me out or that I won't be able to apply them properly without smudging them all over my face, but I just bloody love this colour! Once again, as it's a Kate Moss lipstick, it's super moisturising and it stays on the lips for quite a long time without being too drying or flaking away. I don't think that it has any shimmer in it at all really (correct me if I'm wrong), but I don't think that it needs it anyway. If you're going on holiday this summer or if you go out quite a lot, then this would be the absolute perfect pick for you. If I had to convince you to pick up ANY coral colour, then I would definitely say you should get this one - it's only £5.49 as well!!
Rimmel also do a lip liner in the shade 'East End Snob', which would go really well underneath this shade if you want it to last a little longer than it already does throughout the day.

As far as lip crayons go, I was never really a fan of that whole thing when everyone was literally raving about them left, right and centre. I purchased this particular one from Revlon right when all of this hype was going on and don't get me wrong, I did whip it out and wear it a few times, but I just couldn't see what all the fuss was about. Sure, it's easy to apply, because it's precise and it doesn't cause as much mess as a lipstick may do, but the minty taste/scent was kinda off-putting in my opinion and as I've already mentioned, I just forget what lipsticks I have stashed away in my storage, because I have an excessive amount already! Having said that, I recently rediscovered this Revlon Matte Balm in the shade 'Elusive' and I have grown to actually quite like it! It's more of a Barbie kinda pink, so I do think it looks quite flattering on my pale skin, but at the same time, it is on the more daring side of the spectrum, so I get the fact that it may not be the shade for everyone and that's totally okay. It's also matte, which I don't normally like for the summer, but I don't mind it when it comes to this shade and this crayon type formula. I do actually like the fact that it comes in a crayon, because as I said, it makes it easier, more precise and a lot less fuss free! You can quite easily just pull out a mirror and apply it on the go if you need to touch up (which you may not even need to do that regularly at all) and you don't have to worry, because chances are, it will still look amazing, no matter where or how you apply it! I would also put the Rimmel 'East End Snob' Lip Liner under this shade, because I feel like they are both on more of the Barbie sort of scale, so they would go well with complimenting each other and they would create that extra matte look too, because they are both very matte without being all that drying.

The penultimate shade I have to share with you today is my trusty Mac lipstick in the shade 'Bombshell'. I genuinely can't tell you how much I adore this lipstick! I wore it all throughout the Autumn/Winter and I am continuing to love it now that we are well and truly over those seasons. It's such a versatile kinda shade and I would genuinely consider it to be an all-round go to. It's not one of those Mac lipsticks that are highly talked about, which I think is so strange, yet such a shame, hence why I try to talk about it quite a lot in my beauty posts, as I feel like it deserves more recognition! It has some subtle shimmer running through it, which I think is so flattering and it's quite a mid-toned pink, which is also one that would compliment many different skin tones, whether you are very fair or quite dark. The lip liner I would suggest that you wear with this shade is the Mac lip liner in 'Soar' or should I just refer to it as being the one that Kylie Jenner so famously wears when she pairs it with the lipstick in Brave?! I don't actually have Brave myself, but I think that it works ever so nicely with this shade of lipstick and even though the duo are also quite pricey, I think that it's well worth it!

The final shade that I have been loving as of late is the Revlon lip butter in 'Berry Smoothie'. It has occurred to me that it seems to be a common theme in the fact that whenever a new beauty product comes out, I never seem to be as obsessed with it as every else is originally. I tried quite a few of the lip butter shades when they came out what seems like forever ago, but I just didn't like them at all. Maybe I didn't find the shade that worked best for me, but they didn't float my boat whatsoever. I don't know if people still rave about them nowadays, but that's exactly what I'm doing now! This is the deepest pink shade out of all of the ones I have, which could be suggested by the name 'Berry Smoothie' after all. Some people may argue and say that this is more of an autumnal shade, which you would typically see being worn with an all-black or monochrome outfit, but I don't think that's the case. We don't always want to be seen rocking a coral lip in the summer time! Sometimes, it's nice to switch it up and go a little deeper than that. There shouldn't be any rules or regulations when it comes to beauty anyway. This lip butter is particularly moisturising, hence why it's called a lip butter and it has a really pretty sheen to it, which is always something that I like when I find a new lipstick shade, regardless of what time of year it is. I also like the fact that it swivels up and down, because it makes the packaging look really classy and professional, but it doesn't get messy either! I would personally wear it with the 'Soar' lip liner from Mac, because they are both quite deep shades and you can really switch it up and match them two together, no matter what the season is.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and seeing what my go to summer lip shades are! What colours have you been loving recently? Do you have a particular favourite lipstick brand? Let me know in the comments below and make sure to go and have a read of Mollie's post!

Lots of love always,

White On White

Cardigan / New Look
Vest Top / New Look
Jeans / Topshop (Jamie Style)
Shoes / Office
Crown Ring / Coconut Lane
Arrow Ring / Coconut Lane

I've come to the conclusion that I really like doing fashion posts once a month. I may not be the most photogenic of teenagers, but I really do enjoy putting on an outfit that I feel comfortable and confident in and being able to share it with all of my readers. They may not be my most popular posts and they may not be the ones that I can post the most due to the amount of effort and time that goes into each one, but I enjoy them none-the-less.

I recently bought a new cardigan, which I thought was absolutely perfect for summer and so, as you do with any new clothing piece, I wanted to pair it with an outfit that I thought I could share on my blog! I had originally wanted to wear this cardigan with a different top that I had also bought quite recently, but it was in the wash at the time I shot these photographs, so that will have to make an appearance another time, I guess!

White jeans are always a staple piece when it comes to the summer months. Although they are easy to ruin, because you could spill things on them or you could get them dirty if you're out and about on adventures, I really do think they are worth investing in. I understand that Topshop jeans can be slightly more expensive, but I have these white ones, black ones and light blue ones and I really do get good wear out of them each year, so I totally think that you should spend that little bit more for ones of higher quality!
They are also incredibly comfortable, especially considering the fact that I like my jeans to be tight and well-fitted, so that's another positive thing about them that you could consider if you are looking to buy a new pair of white jeans!

I can tell that I'm going to be getting a lot of wear out of all of these items and I'm looking forward to seeing what other outfits I can create over the next few weeks and months!

What are your Summer staples? Have you got any jeans that you consider to be the best?

Lots of love always,

The Liebster Award #2 | Simply Jadey

I can't believe that I've been nominated AGAIN for The Liebster Award!! What an absolute honour. This time I was nominated by Alice from OurOwnWonderland . I absolutely adore her blog and I think all of you will too, so please make sure that you go and check her out when you get the chance! She writes about all sorts of different topics, so there really is something for everyone over there. Thank you so much for the nomination Alice!!

Without further ado, I'm going to get onto the questions that she would like me to answer..

1) What is your current go to product?

Hmm, what a cool question to start with! I would have to say that my current go to product is the Seventeen Stay Time Concealer. I don't usually wear foundation at all, unless I feel like it or I'm going out for a special occasion, as I tend to stick to BB/CC creams or a tinted moisturiser, so I would say that concealer is the one thing that corrects my skin, if you can put it that way. I use it under my eyes and on any blemishes and I find that this one really does work amazingly! It's only £4.49 too!!

2) If you could only eat 1 food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would have to say pizza. I just absolutely adore pizza - there's no doubt about it. I'm not too fussy when it comes to the toppings, but I usually like either a plain margherita, pepperoni or pineapple. It all depends on how I'm feeling on the day that I have it!

3) What do you find most difficult about blogging?

The thing that I probably find the most difficult about blogging is actually promoting my posts and getting myself out there. There are so many amazing bloggers out there, who tend to post about similar things to me, such as beauty, fashion, lifestyle and all of that jazz and so I find it quite a challenge to think of my unique selling point. If someone can go onto a fellow bloggers website and they can find a review on an eyeshadow palette, then why would they want to go onto my blog and read practically the exact same information all over again? That won't make my blog stand out and so therefore I probably wouldn't get much attention on those sorts of posts. That's why I try to do certain series' that other bloggers don't do, just so that whenever a person chooses to come onto my blog, they aren't let down and they have a variety of posts to read that sets me apart from the crowd. I just think that it can be quite hard to promote my posts and get people interested in them, but it's something that gets easier the more I get involved in the community and the more I talk to people, so eventually, I'm able to think of original ideas.

4) What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?

Personally, I find this quite an easy, straight-forward question to answer, as I feel I have really found myself lately (not to sound too cringy/cliché or anything) so I believe that I know who I am and what I'm capable of. I would say that I'm compassionate, devoted and entertaining. I'm compassionate, because I always try to be there for other people and I won't give up until I'm satisfied that I've done my best for them. I'm devoted, because I give my all to the people that I love, as well as the things that I love, so I put my all into whatever I'm passionate about. Finally, I'm entertaining, because I always try to make people smile or laugh and I'm forever cracking jokes.. Literally.

5) Would you rather spend more money on clothes or makeup?

In all honesty, despite the fact that I usually tend to post more makeup type bits, I would actually rather spend more money on clothes. I feel like you have the ability to express yourself so much more and it allows you to experiment with so many different shades, shapes, styles, textures and all sorts like that. There is a much wider variety, in my opinion and you can get some really high quality bits that will last a long time, so you can completely mix and match each outfit up to reflect your mood or your style.

6) If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

Given the chance, there are many things that I would tell my younger self. The one thing that stands out the most is how shy I was. I'm still not the most confident of characters, but I really feel like I have blossomed out of my shell over the past year and for that, I am so grateful. I used to be so shy to the point where I wouldn't socialise and I'd always hide anyway from any opportunities that came my way. I didn't receive nearly as many as I do now, but I'm feeling particularly successful at the moment, so it leads me to think "What if I had said no all of the time?". I would not be where I am today. I'm so happy that I am where I am, but it makes me wonder what would happen if I'd have carried on saying no at any chance that I got to break out of that comfort zone of mine. You should always say yes. You may be scared, you may be cautious, you may feel uncomfortable, but you never know until you try! If you say no, you won't know what the possible outcomes could be. Whereas if you say yes, you learn something whether it's a positive situation or whether it's something you don't wish to do again. At least you have tried. And that, my friend, is the best thing that you can do.

7) What's your favourite thing to do to cheer yourself up?

Let's be honest here (we all know I'm all about that honesty!), I haven't always been the most positive person in the world. I used to actually struggle with feeling depressed and worthless a lot of the time, so I'd often spend the majority of my time loathing in self-pity. After 2 and a half years, I realised that wasn't the way to go and it wasn't going to get me anywhere. I had to create the life that I wanted to live and that's what I was going to do. It isn't easy. It isn't easy at all. But, it's possible. Anything is possible. If I want to cheer myself up now, I will honestly just turn to the internet. It never fails to cheer me up. Whether that's watching YouTube videos, reading my favourite girlies' blog posts or just talking to my favourite girlies (you know who you are.. I mentioned you all in my last post!), I always feel so much better afterwards. Some of you who read my blog may rely on me to be your main source of hope and happiness and I would never want to let you down. I want to be a good role model and I want to make people happy, but I have to practise what I preach, so if I want to cheer myself up, I can start by channelling all of that energy into blogging and then in turn, it can make some of you smile (I hope!).

8) What was your dream job when you were younger? Is it still your dream job?

When I was younger, I always either wanted to be some sort of dancer or a singer. I still do want to be a singer, as it's something that I absolutely love with all of my heart, but I wouldn't say that I'd like to focus all of my energy into having it as an actual full-time career. Sure, I'd love to make music on the side and write my own songs, but I don't want that to my main focus, if that makes any sense? My dream job now is to be a child and adolescent psychotherapist, so I guess you could say they are two completely different things! Both of them would mean that I'm impacting people's lives positively though, so that's just as good.

9) What's your favourite post you have done? Post a link so we can check it out!

My favourite post that I have done so far would probably have to be the collaboration that I did for Boutique of Molly, which is an up and coming online fashion company! I absolutely loved that post and it's something that I personally feel very proud of and I'm glad that I get to share it with you guys. When you have worked so hard on something, to be able to share it with those you love and to receive such kind feedback just means the world. If you want to check it out (please do!) then it can be found here.

10) What are your top 3 TV shows?

This is another one that's quite easy for me to answer. I've been obsessed with Pretty Little Liars and Once Upon A Time for quite a while now. They are 2 programmes on Netflix, which I just absolutely adore! I'm one of those strange people that can only watch 1 programme at a time, because there are so many different storylines within each season, let alone within each programme itself and so I like to focus primarily on 1 and then once I've finished that one, I'll move onto another one. I also love First Dates, which is a dating series on All 4 within the UK and I just find it so cute. Well, when the dates are actually successful that is...

11) Other than blogging, what's your favourite hobby?

Aside from blogging, my favourite hobby would have to be photography. I have loved photography ever since I can remember and it's yet another passion of mine, hence why I try to implement it into my blog at whatever chance I get. I think it's such a fun and creative way to capture memories and to tell a story through images and I couldn't see myself ever getting bored of it if I'm honest, which is quite a bold statement if I do say so myself!

Once again, thank you so, SO much to Alice from OurOwnWonderland for nominating me for this award. She's such a lovely, inspiring blogger and so I would highly recommend that you go over and check out her little corner of the internet. You will absolutely not regret it!

Let's All Have A Casual Chat: Mental Health Awareness Week

This year, Mental Health Awareness Week takes place between the 16th-22nd of May. The theme is relationships, which affects everybody in one way or another. As I'm extremely passionate about anything in relation to mental health, I felt as though it was only right to post something to show my support and share my thoughts on a topic that really does mean a lot to me.

In my opinion, the relationships that we have with other people, particularly those around us can really impact the state of our mental health. If we are surrounded by positive, supportive people, who always give us their time and unconditional love, then it's likely that their attitudes will reflect onto us, therefore making us feel the same way that they do. However, if we are surrounded by negative, hateful people, who constantly wallow in self-pity and pessimistic thoughts, then it's much more likely that this will rub off onto us and we will then become depressed, anxious, suicidal or in general, mentally unwell.

I know that relationships can be very hard to build and maintain. Arguments can start so easily nowadays over such petty things, which is honestly such a shame. The thing is, I don't think anybody gets a kick out of arguing with someone they love and care about. We all say things we don't mean sometimes. We all have to deal with a range of different emotions and if we are particularly tired that day or if various things have already gone wrong, it can easily lead to one minor thing happening, which will just make you snap at the person you least wanted to. It's something that we all experience from time to time - myself included. Sometimes, if you're feeling a bit rubbish, it can seem like the ideal thing to just go into your room, bury yourself under the covers, stick your headphones in and devour a whole tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream all in one go (I'm currently eating some of the Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavour. as I'm typing this.. It's my fave!). Believe me when I say I've felt like that far too many times for me to count on both hands - but, you can't go through life feeling this way! It really is too short and too precious. Of course, you are entitled to hide away from the world sometimes, if you're having a particularly dark day. Of course, you are allowed to scream into your pillow so loudly that it's enough to deafen everyone living in your street. Of course, you are allowed to feel all of those negative emotions. Those are all perfectly normal things that we all experience. You are not alone.

You may feel like the world is against you, but I can assure you, that's far from the truth.
The people that you surround yourself with should be those you genuinely want in your life. If someone is constantly putting you down or harming you in some way that is making you unhappy, then you need to revaluate why exactly they are there in the first place. You shouldn't spend your time with nasty people, who don't even deserve to be in your life if they are going to make you feel so bad about yourself.

If you don't feel like there are many people in your life, who actually do appreciate you, then take a step back and think about who has been there when nobody else was. Think about family and friends. I understand that some of you may not get along with certain family members or you may not have that many friends, but neither do I! However, having said that, I'm eternally grateful for those people that I do have in my life. Sometimes, it can be healthy to spend some time alone, so you don't get too used to relying on others quite so heavily. This doesn't mean that you can't ask for help when you may need it. We all need a shoulder to cry on sometimes. It doesn't mean that you're weak. It just means that you may need some extra support. Allow yourself to receive advice and attention when you're feeling down. Let yourself be listened to and loved.
Don't be afraid to speak up. Mental health can be such a frightening thing to deal with, but you don't have to deal with it on your own. There are people there who want to help you and be there for you. You don't need to bottle up your feelings. If you are open and honest, then you will hopefully stop feeling this way within time. Be brave, always. The first few steps are the most difficult.

I do find it difficult to maintain relationships myself and I also find it difficult to accept when I need support sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for speaking to people about my problems, as I do really appreciate it when my friends give me advice, but at the same time, I do often feel as though I'm bothering them. The truth is, you're usually not at all. Your loved ones just want you to be happy. When you struggle with your mental health, it can be so challenging to accept help and you can often feel as though you're a burden or as though people just won't have time to listen to you and support you. You don't deserve to feel this way. No one deserves to feel this way. No matter how many arguments you have with those that you care about the most, they will still always be there. You will feel 1000 times better once you have spoken up and accepted that you're finding things tough. It doesn't mean you're weak. It doesn't mean you're helpless. It doesn't mean you're pathetic. It means you're human and you just need a hand to hold to help you back on the right track.

I know I'm only a 15 year old girl on the other side of the screen to you, but I am here to help. I am always here to help any of you who may need it. Whenever I write these more personal posts, I always worry that people may think I'm just rambling on about a load of rubbish, but I genuinely do mean every word I say. I know what it's like to feel depressed. I know what it's like to feel as though harming yourself is the only option. I know what it's like to feel as though you want your life to end. I understand -  believe me, I do. Even if you want to send me an email or a private message, so that I can help you prepare what to say to someone close to you about this topic, then that's absolutely fine. You're more than welcome to reach out to me for that! I just want you all to be safe and surrounded by those who bring out the best in you. Focus on building up and making the most of those relationships. Forget about little arguments. They are irrelevant. Spread the love!

I love you all very much and I can assure you that you massively help me in terms of my mental health. If I can help even one person through this post, then it will be worthwhile. Don't be ashamed of your story. It will inspire others.

*Whenever we begin to feel as if we can no longer go on, hope whispers in our ear to remind us that we are strong*

Lots of love always,

Spring/Summer Lust List

Hi everyone! I thought that I'd do a bit of a different post today. I've done different outfit posts before, but I've never actually done a fashion wishlist, so I thought that today would be the perfect chance for me to do so, now that we are well and truly headed into the Summertime - yay!

1. Coconut Lane Luxe Miami Rose Gold Sunglasses - £24 / Ever since I was about 8 years old, I've always had to wear glasses on a daily basis - and not just for reading, unfortunately. It was just something that I dealt with as time went on. However, in September, I made the decision to get contact lenses and it's honestly one of the best decisions that I've ever made. It now means that during the summer months, I can wear whatever sunglasses I wish without them having to be prescription. Happy times! I'm actually planning on buying this Rose Gold pair from Coconut Lane, because I just think their absolutely stunning. They reflect such gorgeous colours when the light hits them and I also really love the shape of them. They seem to be a hit with fellow bloggers too! Remember that you can use my 20% discount code on your own pair of super cool sunnies if you enter 'jademillard20' at the checkout!

2. Crochet Panelled Mini Dress - Forever21 - £19 / This is such a pretty daytime dress, perfect for if you have any summertime holidays planned! Coral is always really on-trend during this time of the year, as is crochet, so you really can't go wrong if you snap up this panelled mini dress. I suppose you could even accessorize it up to make it appropriate for the evening, if you really wanted to! You don't want to be piling on the layers when it's sweltering hot outside, so just slip this on and you'll be good to go, as well as being fashionable too!

3. High-Waisted Denim Shorts - Forever21 - £15 / Oh my, these adorable shorts are to die for! On the website, they come modelled in 4 different shades, but I particularly like the medium denim ones, as featured in the photo above. Everybody needs a pair of denim shorts, because they are just so versatile and stylish, but you have to make sure you get the right pair that suits you and with such a variety of colours and styles, you're bound to find them in no time! I find that, because I'm quite curvy and I have fairly large hips, I usually suit the high-waisted type. I just find them a little more flattering on my body, but remember that everybody's different! They also have some pockets either side, which are perfect for holding your phone, some cash and a few little makeup essentials!

4. RI Resort Paisley Print Bikini Top + Bottoms - River Island - £36 / Is it just me or do you agree that this is an absolutely amazing bikini? I love it so much! Paisley print is actually one of my favourites, if I'm honest with you. I just think that anything with more of a unique or abstract pattern is so much more flattering! I usually struggle to find a bikini that flatters my figure, but I feel like this one would pretty much flatter anybody. The top is a V-neck style with cami type straps and the bottoms are low rise with tied sides - perfect! Even if you don't normally go for abstract prints, you should totally step out of your comfort zone this season!

5. Silver Embellished Strappy Sandals - New Look - £17.99 / Another thing that I really need to purchase this year is a new pair of sandals. Don't get me wrong, I do have a couple, but they aren't exactly what I would like and so I probably wouldn't wear them as much as I would if I genuinely did love them. I picked out these ones, because I love the embellished detailing and I think that they look really classy and of designer quality, when actually they are such an affordable price!

6. Cream Crochet Scallop Hem Playsuit - New Look - £22.99 / If you know me, you will know that I'm well and truly obsessed with playsuits. I mean, seriously, it's a problem. It's just that in my eyes, you can never have too many! They are so easy and so effortless to just throw on, because then you don't really have to bother with anything else apart from shoes! They come in so many different styles and colours, which is one of the reasons as to why I love them so much! This one in particular caught my eye when I was browsing online, trying to put this 'Lust List' together. As I said earlier, crochet is really in at the minute and anyway, who doesn't love a bit of crochet in their life? It's too cute to say no too.

So, there we have it. Those are 6 things that are on my Spring/Summer Lust List! I know we have kinda passed the Spring stage by now, but it went with the title anyway...

What do you like on this list? Is there anything that you are lusting over this season?

Lots of love always,

Makeup Of The Month: May / Collab

Today's post is a collab with the ever so lovely Eleanor - we are going to be sharing with you our makeup of the month! I shall link her blog at the end of this post, so that you can have a read to see what she has been loving for the month of May.
Recently, I've been going for quite a neutral, peachy look with glossy, nude lips. I feel as though you can definitely wear it like I have, which is perfect for everyday or you can also spice it up to rock it in the evening if that's more your style. Most of the products with the exception of one are all affordable and available to purchase within the drugstore, so it's more than likely that you will be able to get your hands on them if you are wanting to recreate something similar to the look that I have gone for today. If you are interested in finding out what I used on my face to achieve the look I've been opting for throughout the majority of May, then please keep on reading!

Lately, I've been trying out the Collection 'Primed & Ready' Illuminating Primer. Now, I'm not the type of girl that usually wears a primer, because I haven't ever found one that really grabs my attention, but on a whim, I decided to pick this one up and give it a go.
Seeing as I've never really tried a primer properly before, I wasn't entirely sure on what to expect. If I'm honest, I still don't know whether this works, but I enjoy implementing it into my makeup routine none the less. On the packaging, it states that it's a 'reviving & anti-fatigue illuminating primer' and I would say that as far as I'm concerned, that's true. It's a non-greasy consistency, it blends really well and I'm pretty sure it does illuminate my skin a little bit too! If you have tried this primer before, then let me know what your views are.

I'm pretty sure that if you have been reading my blog for quite a while now then you will be sick of hearing me talk about this product, but I guess that just goes to show how much I really do like it. For those of you who don't already know, this is a tinted moisturiser from Dermatologica, which I typically use for my base. It's honestly lasted me ages, which is just as well, because it is on the pricier end of the spectrum! However, having said that, I would go as far as to say it is worth the whole £34.80. Trust me, I gritted my teeth as I said (or should I say typed) that too. I tend to apply a small amount to the back of my hand and then just dab my foundation brush into it and blend it all over my face. It leaves you with a really natural, effortless finish, but it doesn't look as if you have just caked a load of product on, which is always a plus! I honestly wouldn't pick anything over this. If you haven't already tried it out, please do. It's worth all of your money. I pinky promise.

Another product that never fails to impress me is the Seventeen Stay Time Concealer. I use this religiously to cover up my horrendous under eye circles and to pop on any blemishes and trust me when I say that there are a fair few of them to hide away! I guess that's what you expect when you're a hormonal teenager. Oh, the joys. If you struggle with spots like myself, then believe me when I say you need this concealer in your life! It doesn't completely magic them away, but it definitely does reduce the appearance of them and it helps to make them seem less visible without irritating them, which is what I look for when I'm trying to cover mine up. I don't find that it creases either, so if you want to buy a new concealer from the drugstore, then this may be just the right option for you.

In order to achieve that beachy, bronzed effect that I like to go for, I use the blush and bronzer shades from my Sleek 'Face Form' Palette. I used to actually use the highlight when I didn't use the bronzer, but then I stopped using the highlight shade, as I found one that I much preferred (more about that in a minute!). I usually just get my fluffy powder brush from Real Techniques, dust it in the contour shade and suck in my cheeks (you know exactly what I'm talking about, right?) and then I just apply it like that! I don't like to use such a heavy hand, because bronzer easily has the ability of looking a bit too full-on, but if you literally just apply a light dusting, then it really can make you look 10x better! Being a particularly pale girl myself, I find it difficult to actually find a product that allows me to look as though I have been out in the sun without getting incredibly burnt during the process. This palette also comes with the 'Rose Gold' blush, which is one of Sleek's most popular shades, as it has been dubbed as a dupe for the Nars 'Orgasm' blush. I have never tried 'Orgasm' myself, but I'm just going by what other people have said! I always wear this blush without fail and I think it's absolutely perfect! It has a really subtle shimmer and the shade is one that you just can't go wrong with, if I'm completely honest. For only £9.99 for all 3 shades (a bronzer, a highlight and a blush) when the blush itself would be £4.99, you should definitely all go and pick this 3 in 1 up from your local Boots or Superdrug!

Considering the fact that a couple of months ago, I didn't even know what the brand Seventeen had to offer, I have quite literally fallen in love with this product!! I first heard about it through Danielle Carty on YouTube and since I tried it out, I haven't turned back. It has quickly become my go to highlight and I rarely wear a makeup look without adding it in. I really like how there are 4 different shades in it, because it means that I can just swirl my brush around and then just apply it to the tops of my cheekbones, where the sun would normally hit it. I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear this product and I know I'm not the only beauty blogger who adores it either! Mine is in the shade 'Pink Bronze', but they also do one called 'Gold Bronze', so it's up to you as to what one you opt for! I definitely think that you need to at least go and give it a swatch though. I'm certain that you will end up loving it nearly as much as I do.

Can you believe I'm featuring another product from Seventeen? I know, it's insane, right?! I'm not actually going to go into too much detail about this palette, because I have already done so in a review solely dedicated to this, which you can find here, but this is the only set of eyeshadows that I used on my eyes for this particular look. There is a mixture of matte and shimmer shades and I think that there are so many different options when deciding on what colours to go for from this palette, which I just love. You are quite honestly spoilt for choice! Whether you prefer to keep it simple or whether you're the sort of gal that likes to go wild, then you will be able to find a couple of different shades that you like anyway! To create this particular look, I used the shades Gentle Pink and Radiant Gold. I started by applying Gentle Pink all over the lid to act as a neutral base and then I applied Radiant Gold in the crease to warm the whole look up a little bit and make it slightly more shimmery and peachy, as that's what I like to go for during the Summer.

For my eyebrows, Soap & Glory's Brow Archery Pencil is always the one that I find works the best for me. I have the shade suitable for brunette's and I really like using it on a daily basis. I don't always fill my eyebrows in anymore, because I can't always be bothered if I'm completely honest, but if I am going to, then this is the product that I will turn to. It has a pencil on one end, which you can twist up and just fill in your eyebrows directly that way, as if you're literally following the shape of them and colouring through the hairs and then on the one that I have, it has another end which is more of a little brush, which makes your hairs look darker, so I assume it acts as sort of a top layer, but when looking on the website, this product has a brush on the other end, so maybe the one I have is just an older version - I have no idea!! Soap & Glory do offer quite a large variety of eyebrow products anyway, so I'm sure you will be able to find something that you like.

Once I have applied some of my trusty 'Lash Sensational' Mascara from Maybelline, I feel as though my eyes are good to go and ready to face the day! I have quite black, voluminous lashes as it is (well, in my opinion and the opinion of a few others anyway), but a girl can never wear too much mascara! Unless it clumps, that is. I was always that girl that tried and tested a million and one different mascaras, but now I feel as though I have stuck with this one for the majority of this year and so I don't think there will be any looking back to find a new one now! This may just be the one. Watch this space.

Pretty much any lip option would go well with this kind of look, but I do have a personal favourite that I've been loving. I recently discovered the Rimmel Lip Liner in 'Tiramisu' and so I have been testing that out quite a lot to see what I think of it. It's safe to say that I absolutely love it! Unlike the other Rimmel Lip Liner that I've got in 'East End Snob', it's just your average pencil applicator. It doesn't twist up or down - you just take the lid of and apply the pencil directly to your lips, so it's completely fuss free! I know I personally don't really mind how you apply lip liner, but I must say, I do quite like how simple it is to use by just putting it straight on. If you have ever had the Italian dessert Tiramisu, then you will notice that this shade is literally like the top of a Tiramisu. I haven't ever tried it myself, but that's where Google comes in useful, I guess! It's a lovely nudey brown, which can be worn either on it's own or with a similar shade of lipstick over the top.
I actually paired it with the L'Oreal Eva's Nude Lipstick, which I used to wear all the time and since rifling through my lipstick box recently, I came across it again and rediscovered my love. It's moisturising and it makes your lips look really supple and nourished. The duo go really well together as well, but you can definitely pick and choose with how you go about the lip shade!

There we have it guys! This is my finished makeup look that I have been turning to for the month of month. I hope you enjoyed reading it and you found it somewhat helpful. Don't blame me if you now have a long list of beauty bits that you want to buy though - oops!

Let me know what you think in the comments below and make sure to tweet me a picture if you decided to recreate this look. If you would like to see what Eleanor's makeup of the month is, then go on over and check it out http://www.eleanorclaudie.com/ and give her other posts a little read whilst you're at it too! She's one of my blogging best friends, who I love to pieces, so if you like my posts, then I'm sure you will like hers too!!

Lots of love always,

The Liebster Award | Simply Jadey

I got nominated for The Liebster Award by one of my lovely followers, who blogs over at http://loveyourselfbeautyblog.blogspot.co.uk/. After reading her post and seeing that she had nominated me to answer the questions that she had made up, I genuinely felt over the moon and so flattered! I have never been nominated for any award before and so it felt like a huge achievement for me personally, so thank you very much for the nomination!

For those of you who may not already know, The Liebster Award is basically a unique way to recognise up and coming bloggers that might not have quite as many followers compared to other people in the wonderful world of the internet! It's a way to promote their website and share a little bit of love, because I mean, who doesn't like spreading the love every now and then? To accept the award, you essentially have to thank the person who nominated you and then link back to their blog, as well as nominating 11 fellow fairly new bloggers and give them 11 quirky questions to answer in response!

I'm now just going to go ahead and answer the questions..

1) What is your go to lip colour?

Oooh, this is a tricky one! I'm absolutely addicted to lip products and I can never go shopping without buying at least 1! However, I'd probably have to say that my go to lip colour, which I'm usually always wearing if I'm going out is my MAC Lipstick in the shade 'Bombshell'. It's one of the less raved about shades, but I absolutely adore it and I don't have any faults with it either. If you're looking for a MAC lipstick to buy or just a new lipstick in general, then you should definitely go for this option.

2) Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years time, I'll be 20, (wow, I'll actually be an adult then.. what a scary thought!) so I'd like to think that I'll have done quite well for myself then in all aspects of my life. I'll hopefully have a boyfriend (it would be nice to have a little love from a boy!), be at University somewhere in London studying Psychology or something to do with being a child and adolescent psychotherapist, whilst living away from home (we'll see about that one), continuing with my blog and maybe I'll have even started a YouTube, have travelled the world and have a job working somewhere within mental health for young people! I'd like to have done some volunteering and charity work too. Not too much to ask for, eh?

3) What do you do to relax?

I'm currently in Year 10 at school, so I'm in my first year of GCSE's, which means that I can often get pretty stressed if I'm not careful, as the work can very easily just pile up! If I'm having a particularly hectic time and I just want to de-stress, then I'll usually run a bubble bath, obviously featuring a Lush bath bomb or bubble bar, put a face mask on (I'm currently loving the BB Seaweed one, which is also from Lush - what a shocker), put on some comfy night time clothes and then I'll light a candle, put my fairy lights on, read a book (I'm currently reading All Of The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven) and then I'll either watch Once Upon A Time, Pretty Little Liars (I'm watching for the new season at the moment) or Gossip Girl (my new obsession) on Netflix or I'll watch some YouTube videos and read some blogs! Sometimes I write up my own posts during the evening too! I may also have a hot drink and some cookies or biscuits too. Don't judge... You know you're the same, so don't go pointing the finger at me!

4) Night in or night out?

Definitely a night in! I never usually go out during the night-time, because I'm only 15 and I have other things to do during the evenings, but I definitely prefer to relax. Even if I got invited out, I would probably rather stay in anyway. Nothing beats lazy, chilled nights.

5) If you could only use one beauty product for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would definitely have to say mascara! If I was being specific, then my favourite at the moment (it's actually been my favourite for ages!) would have to be the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. It's just the best. It's the bomb.com. I'm yet to try anything better, because in my opinion, this is the best that you can get and having tried many mascaras myself, this is quite an announcement to make, so you best believe that I'm not joking!

6) What is your favourite meal?

I'm very much an Italian foods kinda gal. I love anything Italian! Pizza, Pasta, Spaghetti.. you name it, I probably love it. Out of all of those 3, I really can't pick, but at the moment, it would probably be pasta, because I've been having that the most recently.

7) What is your favourite high street clothing store?

Oooh, this is yet another tricky one for me to choose from! I would say that I've always loved New Look. They are affordable, they are always showing off the latest trends, they have a wide variety of different sizes, they also do amazing jewellery, handbags, shoes and even underwear! I really don't think you can go wrong with them if I'm honest.

8) What is your favourite film?

I would probably say that my favourite film is 'Miss You Already'. I don't want to give too much away, but it's honestly such a beautiful film and it had myself and my friend bawling our eyes out at the end of it! It's described as a drama film/romance and so if you're into that sort of thing, then you will definitely be into it. It's essentially about 2 best friends that go through a lot together and it really is ever so touching. If you want to find out more, then you'll have to go and watch it or watch the trailer, because I'm not giving out any spoilers!

9) Who is your style icon?

I actually have 2 style icons - Alexa Chung and Lucy Hale. I couldn't pick between the 2 of them, because I genuinely love them both. I feel like they really know how to wear sophisticated, dressy outfits, but they also know how to rock the casual, chilled look too. They get the balance right every time, in my opinion. Not to mention, Aria Montgomery is possibly my favourite girl from Pretty Little Liars! She's just such a stunner.

10) What do you enjoy most about blogging?

Quite honestly, I love everything about blogging. I haven't really experienced any of the negative parts to it yet, so I do feel very appreciative about that, as it's given me the opportunity to really focus on the positives! I love how I have made so many Internet friends through it. A few of my very best blogging girlies are Shannon (diaryofashygirll), Eleanor (eleanorclaudie), Grace (gracexkate), my collab girlies (there's 7 of them, so I won't name them all, but they know who they are!), Amie (thecurvaceousvegan), Eve (helloimeve), Alana (alanajaneblogger), Charlotte (scarletslippers), Bethan (bepbeee), Laura (blossomofhope), Frances (royally rouge) and Anna (thumbelina2016). I'm sure I'm forgetting some of you and I'm so very sorry if I have, but you all know who you are anyway! I really do value every friendship that I have created and I'm so proud of all of the girls I know, as they are all doing so incredibly well for themselves. They are all so lovely and gorgeous and I can't thank them enough for supporting me and encouraging me to do the thing that I love the most.

11) If you could buy anything today, what would it be?

The 'Calm: Calm the mind. Change the world' book, for sure! I've already got the app on my phone, even though I don't really get a chance to use it that much, but I really would love to purchase this book at some point in the next few months. I'm an incredibly anxious person and I feel as though this would really help to calm me down, distract me and put things into perspective every once in a while when I feel like picking it up. Whether you read it in the morning for a little pick-me-up or you read it before bed to detox after a long day, I'm pretty sure most people would find it to become an essential for them.

So, that's it! Thank you so, so much for reading my answers. I hope you liked them or found them somewhat interesting.

I nominate:

My questions for you beauties are:

1) If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
2) What's one of your biggest accomplishments that you are most proud of?
3) You can either create a clothing line or a makeup range - Which one would it be?!
4) Who inspires you the most in life?
5) Would you rather go 5 years back in time or 10 years forward to the future?
6) Why did you initially start a blog in the first place?
7) If you could meet any famous person, who would it be and why?
8) What's your favourite book? Has it changed your life in anyway?
9) Do you have any phobias or nervous habits? Share them with us all!
10) Let's imagine you had £10,000. What charities would you give some of the money to?
11) Do you watch Netflix? If so, what's your favourite thing on there to watch?

Don't forget to check all of my favourite girlies out.. And to those who I've tagged, enjoy writing your responses! <3

Lots of love always,
