Monthly Memories: April

I thought I'd start off this 'Monthly Memories' post with a photo of my favourite man in the entire world. I've featured my granddad quite a few times on my blog already, but I honestly do adore him. I mean, I've always been close to my grandparents, ever since I was a little girl. They are practically second parents to me and for that, I am incredibly lucky.
My other granddad lost his battle with cancer in September 2014. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to be as close to him, as I would have liked to have been, but I shall forever hold him close in my heart and I'm sure he is looking down on me every day.
I think that, because I had to grieve the loss of him and as it was so unexpected, I have learnt to value the grandparents that are still with me even more now than I did before.
Of course, if I had the chance, I would bring him back in a heartbeat. That goes without saying, but whilst I hate to admit it, that's impossible.
In the picture above is myself and my mum's dad, my Granddad Ken or as I like to think of him, grampykins! Well, he's a pretty incredible man. He always sings silly songs, he's forever making up rhymes that barely make any sense to me, he's constantly doing silly dances, even though he usually always wobbles afterwards and nearly falls flat on his face, but all of these quirks make him the man that he is and the man that everyone loves. I could never get tired of him telling me stories from his childhood years and from when he was a soldier in the army. Him and my grandma seemed to have had such happy times and I feel very honoured to be able to hear all about them today now that I'm old enough. He has been the perfect father figure for me and I am forever grateful for everything that he has taught me. He's a real family man - always up for cracking jokes, always willing to lend support, always encouraging me, always listening to all of my drama's, always winding me up and even though he almost deafens me when he watches his War films or his horse racing, I wouldn't change him for the world. I know he's very proud of me and I know that he just wants me to be happy and honestly, I couldn't ask for anything more. I love you forever and always Granddad.

And, I know you may be up in heaven now my dear Granddad Barry, but I love you forever and always too.
On the 7th April 2016, I had possibly one of the greatest days of my entire life. The day before, I went to my auntie and uncle's with my grandparents to stay for a few nights and spend some quality time with them, as I don't get to see them too much anymore, what with school and all of that. For my birthday, which was on the 2nd March, my auntie thought that it would be a nice idea to take me to the theatre up in London. I had wanted to go for ages, because I'm a real lover of musicals and theatre productions, so she asked me what I would like to see. After quite a lot of research, I decided that the musical, which stood out to me more than any of the others was 'Wicked'. Now, I'm one of those teenagers that's completely and utterly addicted to anything in relation to social media. I'm talking Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Blogs! I heard many great things about 'Wicked', so I set my heart on that musical in particular, as part of my late birthday present from my auntie. We knew that we were going to set the trip for April, as that's when I was off on my Easter holidays and seeing as my mum and sister had gone on holiday anyway, we all knew that it would be the right time to go. I was initially quite nervous, as I knew that I had to go on public transport in and around London, but I was with my auntie, so I knew that nothing terrible would happen. The actual show itself was absolutely incredible. I loved it so, so much and I'm ever so glad that I picked that one to go and see, as I don't regret it one bit. I also proved to myself that I could go up to London and I could conquer my fears to ensure that I actually had an incredible time. I felt very proud of myself and I would definitely push myself to go up to London again!
I know that this picture is from the same day, but you can't go to London without taking a few snaps of the scenery, can you? Nothing beats London landmarks. Well, I may be biased, as I have practically been bored and raised in London, but still, it's just the most incredible city. I feel very lucky that I have been able to grow up here, because you really do get the chance to grab some fantastic opportunities and I don't think anybody ever has a bad word to say about it. Yeah, it can get incredibly busy and claustrophobic at times, but that's just like any city, so you can't really complain anyway. The atmosphere is just insane. For those of you who may not be familiar with this particular landmark, it's the London Eye. Those little things around it are actually glass pods, which you can go in and then you can literally ride up the London Eye, so you can see the whole of London for miles! Pretty amazing, right? I would say that it's definitely worth the experience.

Once again, I wouldn't be documenting my trip up to London if I didn't include an image of Big Ben! It's an hourly bell Clock Tower, located near the Palace of Westminster and the Houses of Parliament. But, I'm sure most of you knew that already anyway! It was quite a struggle trying to get this photograph, because myself and my auntie were running, as we needed to get the tube and as there were so many people walking about (mainly tourists from other countries), I had to zoom in quite a lot just to get this shot, which deserves true appreciation right there!

A special girl that I have featured on my blog before is one of my very best friends Sam. I have already spoken about her and gone into all of the soppy details as to why I love her as much as I do, so I think I'll pass on doing all of that again, because it would take me forever and a day! I met up with her during the Easter holidays, as we hadn't met up out of school for what felt like (and probably was) ages, so my mum decided to take us into a local town to do some shopping and have lunch (we were a little bit naughty and had Mcdonalds.. oops!) and then she stayed over for a sleepover. I always have a laugh whenever I'm with her and this time was no exception. I mean, we did the typical sleepover trend and stayed up until 3:45am.. Boy, was I tired the next morning! Anyway, I had a fantastic day and night with this girlie and I'm grateful that she has stuck with me for almost 4 years and I hope there are many more to come.
Two more of my very best friends are Megan (on the left) and Tara (on the right). I've met up with Tara quite a few times before, but never have I met up with Megan outside of school, which is such a shocker, considering she literally only lives a road away from me! I had such a lovely day with them though. It was actually horrible in terms of the weather, but luckily we went to the cinema and so it didn't really affect us all that much! We went to see 'Snow White and The Huntsman', which although it isn't something that I'm normally into, I really enjoyed it. Myself and Megan had the giggles right at the beginning for no real reason whatsoever, but I think that just made the day even better if I'm honest. We then spent a good hour and a half trying to find our way to the train station, as I was determined to get us there! I must say, we did get slightly (okay, very) soaked during the process, but we eventually got there, much to the girl's dismay! I think I tired us all out, just a bit! I love these girlies a lot and I feel very lucky to have them as two of my best friends.
My sister is probably reading this post without a doubt and after seeing the two cute little para's I've just done for 3 of my best friends, she probably wants one too, which I'm obviously going to do anyway.. duhh! We haven't taken a selfie together in ages. Well, not a series one that I could actually put on the internet. I thought that this one was so cute!
Anyway, hey sissy Sophie, if you're reading, which I bloody well hope you are ;) after all, you do tell me that you read pretty much the majority of my posts. You have been my very best friend ever since I was born. Well, I actually can't remember that far back, as it was 15 years ago after all, but I'm just going to say that's true, because it technically is.. right? You're my one and only skin and blister (sister, for those of you who don't know. Maybe that's just our thing.. I'm not entirely sure lol) and you're the only one that I need.
We used to argue and fight quite a bit when we were both younger, but that didn't change the fact that you were still my favourite. I actually feel very lucky in the fact that I have a big sister to look up to. You have always been there to cuddle me and wipe away my tears, you have always soothed me whenever I have shared my fears and you have just simply been there throughout all of my 15 years. 15 years and 1 month to be precise.
I know we don't always see eye to eye, but that's just part of the package of being a sibling, I suppose! We always share silly snapchats with each other, we always sing and dance along to the best tunes, we always share clothes and makeup and most importantly, we love each other unconditionally, through the good and the bad.
I'm very proud of you and everything that you have accomplished and been through. The past couple of months haven't been the easiest for you, but I've done my best to help you and cheer you up whenever you have needed it. I'm pretty amazing like that, you see.
I found this poem online and I thought it was really sweet, so I'm going to share it..
'My little eyes are watching
All you say and do
And when I grow up
Big and tall
I want to be like you
My little ears are listening
To everything you say
I am learning how
To grow up
To be like you someday.
So be careful how
You teach me
To be the person that you are.
You're the best friend that I could have
You're my brightest shining star.'
Thank you for everything sis. I love you forever and always beautiful.
And finally, I'm going to end with this breath-taking photo. I was feeling a little bit upset at this point, not for any particular reason really, but I just felt like I needed to go and calm down. This is actually the view from my bathroom window if you look to the left of it. I find that whenever I'm anxious or anything other than happy, looking out of the window at a sunset and getting some fresh air really helps to clear my mind. Surely, I'm not the only one who thinks so? I did genuinely feel a lot better after witnessing this view though, I must admit. I know I'm always taking sunset snaps and featuring them on my blog, but seriously.. I can't get enough!

I hope you have all had a lovely month. I know I haven't shared that much of a variety in terms of my photographs, but this honestly has been the best month of this year so far for me. A lot has happened that I'm unable to photograph. I've been involved in many blogging chats over on Twitter, I had my 1 year blogiversary, I've made some amazing blogging friends, I reached 1,200 followers on Instagram, I was contacted by a brand (Boutique of Molly - review can be found here), I got nominated for The Liebster Award TWICE (blog posts coming soon), I contacted a lovely fellow blogger, asking to become a part of her interview series over on her blog next month (keep your eyes peeled for that), I became a Coconut Queen for the brand Coconut Lane and I even reached 120 followers on here and 200 on Twitter, which is a pretty big deal to me. Thank you all so much for continuing to be a part of my journey.

Here's to the month of May and seeing what surprises and successes that has in store for us all!
Lots of love always,

10 Things You (Probably) Didn't Know About Me

Hi everyone! So, I thought I'd do a little bit of a different post today. I feel like I say that quite a lot, but I do genuinely mean it every time that I say it. This month, I haven't really done many lifestyle posts at all. My main focus has been on fashion and beauty, which isn't something that usually happens on my blog, so it's been a whole change in general if I'm honest. I've gained quite a lot of new followers this month and as grateful and pleased as I am, those of you who are new may not know as much about me as those who have been reading my blog ever since I started just over a year ago. Today I'm going to be sharing 25 facts that you probably don't already know about me. I'm not the most interesting of people, but these are just some of the things that will help you to get to know me better, as the person behind the blog!
1. I've recently become a lot more interested in horoscopes and the reasoning behind each one. I actually follow an account on Twitter (@astrologypics), which I find incredibly interesting. A lot of the times, I can be reading up things about my star sign, which is a Pisces for those of you wondering and I honestly can relate 100%, which I think is a mixture between both really cool and slightly spooky at the same time! I don't usually read the statements in magazines, newspapers or on the Internet, but I like to read about advice for the signs, summing up the signs and things like that. I believe that each different zodiac sign does represent different characteristics and traits, but I suppose that's a personal opinion!
All images except the last are taken off Google
2. I would absolutely love to have my own business when I'm older. I would either want to have an online boutique, where I could sell handmade jewellery, cute home ware pieces and fashions for every size, but on the other hand, I would also like to have an entire store dedicated to everything that I love and feel passionate about, so photography, blogging, fashion, travelling and perhaps even beauty and interior design. I'm studying business as part of my GCSE's and I would also like to carry it on to AS Level, because I genuinely would love to make this dream some sort of a reality in the near future.
3. Once I have completed my GCSE's, (which won't be until next summer), I hope to carry on at 6th form. After I have finished with school altogether, then it would be an absolute dream of mine if I could take a gap year to go travelling, working and volunteering across the world. I have always wanted to contribute to society, hence why I actually started a blog in the first place and I feel like taking a gap year would be the perfect opportunity for me. I've always wanted to travel the world and help people, so if I can do both at the same time over the course of a few months to a year then I would be absolutely thrilled.
4. I'm quite a sentimental, nostalgic person. I actually keep a memory box under my desk in my bedroom where I hold all of the little things that are precious to me. If anyone was to look in there, they probably wouldn't understand why I've kept some of the things that I have, but I believe that although memories can be shared with others that you love and care about, nobody will have truly lived a memory through your eyes, so you're allowed that memory box to be your own personal stash of happy times. I keep tickets, souvenirs, photographs, and little mementos that take me back to the times that I am the most content.
5. This next one may come as a bit of a surprise to you for whatever reason, but I actually really enjoy watching documentaries and educating myself on the world that we live in. I know that I'm still attending school and so I'm constantly learning about all sorts of different things, but watching such insightful documentaries about mental health, broken families, homelessness and drug addictions helps me to get a real-life view of what it's actually like to be suffering from such huge issues. School can teach me many things. But, they don't teach me about issues like these and they don't talk about them from such a personal perspective either, hence why I really value being able to watch such eye-opening programmes. School is compulsory. Teaching myself through film is a choice.
6. I'm a total dreamer. I'm very rarely attached to the 'real world'. I often go off into my own little world, which is filled with all my thoughts, hopes, dreams and aspirations. In this world of mine that I often transport myself to, I get to pick what/who is there and what isn't. I always take each and every single one of you along. That's why I like to think of it as my 'Simply Jadey' world. I don't think about it all of the time, but if I feel anxious or uneasy, then I'll just remember myself that I have my own world, which can be whatever I want it to be and I can do whatever I want to do. Anything is possible. This blog is essentially an outlet for my world. It is OUR world. Our Simply Jadey world. Everything is positive, all of our dreams have the ability to come true, everything is magical. There are even unicorns! Yes, I have a wild imagination. But, we all have to have some sort of magical world that helps keep us distracted from the real world, right?
7. Creating a blog was possibly THE best thing I have ever done in my life. That isn't actually the fact, because I'm sure most of you know that by now! But, the fact is, it's changed my life. Now that I've got my blog, I'm able to connect to so many other bloggers (and in some cases, non-bloggers) that I would have never spoken to if it wasn't for the wonderful world of the Internet. I have made so many new friends in this month alone and I can't wait to see what the future has to hold for all of us! I would love to one day be able to meet all of you and actually, physically hug you and tell you how much of an impact you have had on my life. I never feel quite so lost anymore, because I know that all I have to do is log onto my computer and I've got a whole other world full of love and positivity waiting for me, right at my fingertips. I will meet you one day. I will make it happen.
8. It's another (yes, another) dream of mine to become a songwriter when I'm older! I've dabbled with the idea a few times now, but I have such a varied music taste and I literally couldn't go a day without listening to some sort of tune and I would love to be able to get into that industry someday in the future. I think that music is honestly such a powerful, life-changing thing and it's also so personal and unique to each individual, so I would love to be able to show the world what I'm capable of in terms of creating songs!
9. Spain is my favourite place in the entire world. I've been to Tenerife more times than I could ever remember and I've made it a goal of mine to actually live in Spain for at least 6 months when I'm old enough! Wouldn't that just be incredible? I can't really explain why I love it, but it's just everything and anything all at the same time. The people, the atmosphere, the food, the scenery.. everything!! I feel like it's a part of me, in a weird sort of way.
10. My grandma is my entire world. Don't get me wrong, I love all of my family, friends and you guys to pieces, but if I had to pick 1 inspiration in life, 1 role model then it would by far be my grandma. She has meant everything to me ever since I can remember. She has raised me to be the person that I am and I just wish to make her proud with everything that I do. She has always been my guiding light, giving me hope and motivation to follow my dreams. I always tell her about my blog and she's always so support and encouraging, which just means more than anything to me. She has never left my side and there is not a single thing that I wouldn't tell her. I love her so very much and I always will.

Thank you so much for reading this post. I hope you liked reading it, as much as I liked writing it! Share a few facts about yourselves in the comments below!
Lots of love always,
Jade xo

Spread The Sunshine Is Back!

I have literally been wanting to write this post for months. Although I've still been posting as regularly as I can, I haven't had the chance to reintroduce a series that I was once extremely passionate about. As I've had the chance to focus my mind on other things and I've been blogging about other topics, I've now realised that I actually want to start putting more effort into a little project that I had created on my blog last summer.
By the time it had reached June, we had already gotten through half of the year. After a lot of thinking, debating and conversing with various different friends of mine, I realised that I wanted to create some kind of a positivity project. I hadn't actually had a particularly bad start to the year, but at the same time, I didn't feel as though I was the best version of myself that I could have been. Hence why I decided to start #SpreadTheSunshine. I wrote an introductory post on the 1st June 2015 (you can go and read it here if you would like to) and that was where it all began. I did a couple of different posts in regards to dealing with heartbreak and making a change in the world and I also shared with you some of my personal poetry that I had written, which was actually quite a big step for me. It had proven to be an incredibly successful series, which is why I would like to implement it back into my blog. This project is something personal to me, because I am the one who has thought of the idea and I'm the one who has put my heart and soul into creating content that I genuinely hope will help some of you in some way. No other blogger has set up a #SpreadTheSunshine project, because it's unique to myself and the Simply Jadey family, making it that extra bit more special.
This is something that shall last a long time. I will admit to the fact that ever since the idea of this project came about, I have made much more of a conscious effort to become a positive, confident person. I feel like over the past few months, particularly during this year so far, I really have developed into an optimistic, hopeful individual. I'm constantly trying to better myself and I'm working hard on my studies, my blog and my social skills.
I'm just an average teenager, who goes to school for the majority of the week. I don't lead an extraordinary life, I don't live in a mansion, I'm not rich and I'm not famous either. I'm just a normal girl, who hopes to help change the world through my blog and the way that I am as a person. I do have some pretty big dreams and ambitions that I would love to achieve throughout my life and just because I'm exactly the same as any other person, it doesn't mean that those aspirations aren't achievable.
Through this journey, I'm going to be sharing quotes, personal stories, tips + tricks, motivation, inspiration and a lot more that will hopefully help you to become a more positive individual. It will take time and dedication, but trust me, it's doable.
Are you going to be joining me on this journey of self-discovery (once again)? What would YOU like to see from this series?
Lots of love always,
Jade xo

Things To Do In Spring // Collab

Hi everyone! I've got another collab for you all today. Back at the end of January, myself and 7 other blogging girlies decided that we wanted to create a blogging group, where we could always chat to each other, support each other and create collaborations with each other every few months. We did our first one in February, which was obviously Valentines Day themed and we all really enjoyed that, so we have decided to do another one now that we have gotten into Spring! I will leave the links to all of the girls blogs at the end of this post, so please do go and check them out and give them a follow. They would really appreciate it.

So, as you can already tell from the title, of this post, I'm going to be talking about a few different things that you can do during the Springtime months. I know that as a teenager myself, I can get very bored extremely easily, especially if there's nice weather outside and I'm stuck indoors, feeling unmotivated with nothing to do! Here are just a few of my personal ideas that I have found, which may also be useful for some of you. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

If you're an outdoorsy, adventurous person then you can:

1. Go exploring in the nearby woods! You can run around, play with your friends and just generally mess about. You're also getting fresh air at the same time, as well as burning all of your energy away, so that you will then sleep better that night!

2. Go to the zoo or a wildlife park. There's nothing better than going to see cute, little animals and you can get some really nice pictures to put up on your blog and share with your loved ones too! Paradise Wildlife Park is a great option, as you can see and feed all types of animals, as well as visit the Birds of Paradise!

3. Have a picnic or barbeque with your friends and family. In my opinion, you really can't go wrong with anything that involves food (please tell me that I'm not the only one!) and so whether you're more of a picnic person or a barbeque person, both of those ideas are for outdoors, so it's a nice way of socialising with your loved ones and enjoying the (hopefully) warm weather! Picnics are great for going to the park or the woods or some sort of field, but barbeques can even be done in the comfort of your own home! Well, I've had some picnics in the garden with my mum before, but still.. You know what I mean!

If you're an indoorsy, chilled person then you can:

1. Do some DIY's! I've never really done any personally, but you can get plenty of ideas from YouTube, blogs and even sites such as Pinterest, so you're never going to be stuck for ideas! Why don't you create a pretty pinboard for your room with photographs that make you happy, inspirational quotes, little mementos or just anything that brings a smile to your face? It's something productive, but it also kills time, so it's a win-win situation!

2. Invite some friends over for a movie marathon! Whether you're into Disney, fantasy, adventure, rom-coms or anything else, there are always plenty of movies that you can watch before you get bored. I mean, who gets bored of watching movies? If you're not into watching movies, then you can watch Netflix or YouTube! You don't even have to do it with a friend. You can do it by yourself, but it's nicer if you have someone to keep you company!

3. Plan the perfect solo spring day. For me, if I was by myself and I had the whole day to do whatever I wanted, I would personally look at some recipes and make some yummy milkshakes or fruit lollies, read some magazines to make sure I'm caught up with all of the gossip, try on some cute outfits whilst listening to music and then take some photos for my blog before actually writing the posts up! It may not sound all that fun to you, but I think that's a nice idea if you just want to stay in and chill out on your own. It doesn't have to be lonely and boring.. You can have just as much fun on your own, trust me!

Thank you so much for reading this post. I hope you're all having a lovely Friday. Make sure that you go and check out all of the other girls posts as well! You won't regret it!

Spring Nail Polish Picks

Hey everyone! I've been really loving everything to do with Spring lately. All of the pretty flowers have started to bloom everywhere, the brighter clothes have begun to make an appearance and that means there has also been a change in the beauty and fashion world!
Don't get me wrong, I do really like the warm, deep shades of the Autumn/Winter, but I'm glad to say that things are starting to get more cheerful and colourful now. I recently picked up 3 new Spring shades from Barry M (the other shade I already had!) and so I thought that I might as well do a post on them. I don't wear nail polish all that often, but I think that they can really finish off an outfit and so I don't see why I shouldn't do a post dedicated to them!

L-R: Pit Stop & Lap Of Honour
I'm going to start by talking about these 2 more neutral shades. I thought that I'd include 2 more muted, wearable shades and then 2 brighter, more daring shades if you will. These 2 nail polish's are both from the 'Speedy Quick Dry' range that Barry M does. I would absolutely say that the name corresponds to how they actually are on the nails once they have been applied. I have only tried 'Pit Stop' so far, but once I have applied one coat, it dries almost instantly. If you're anything like me, you will know how frustrating it can be when you're constantly using your hands for work/going out and then your nail polish takes forever to dry! It's the most annoying thing in the whole entire world right? Luckily with this range, you won't have to feel that fury any longer, which I think is excellent.

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Polish - 'Pit Stop' - This is the only shade out of all of them that I have actually tried out yet! It's given me high hopes for the rest of them though, which has got to be a positive point. In the bottle, it comes across as almost like a muted grey shade, which I thought was really pretty in itself. Once actually on the nails, it does look pretty much identical to how it does in the bottle and that's something that I actually really value when I'm purchasing a nail polish. In some lights, it can have hints of duck egg blue, but I do think it's such a gorgeous shade, especially for this time of year, but really, it would work for anytime! It's classy, so it's perfect in order to tone down an outfit, but it just has something about the shade that really ties any look together, whether it's dressy or casual.

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Polish - Lap Of Honour  - As soon as I saw this shade in Superdrug, it literally just screamed 'Spring' to me! It's the perfect lilac for this time of the year. I mean, purple is my favourite colour anyway, but this nail polish is absolutely adorable! Purple goes with pretty much any other colour and it isn't too garish or 'in your face', but it's just really subtle and sweet, so to be honest, I just love it more than life itself and I haven't even worn it yet!
L-R - Grapefruit & Mango
Next up are the 2 brighter, more 'out there' shades, which in all honesty are probably more appropriate for Summer, rather than Spring, but I guess it's my nail polish picks for a reason and so it's my opinion after all! Some people don't ever like to wear such bright colours on their nails, but I'm the complete opposite! I think that bright colours on your nails really do add just that extra pop of colour, which is perfect for this current and upcoming time of the year. These 2 shades are part of the 'Gelly Hi Shine' range, which I have to say is actually probably my preferred range out of the two, but then again, I'm not too sure if I can really pick favourites when it comes to this post, because they are all featured for a reason! This range adds an extra glossy finish, whereas the other range dry the nail polish quicker, so I guess you could say that although they are different, they both have their plus points. Now onto the shades..

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint - Grapefruit - The thing I like the most about these particular Barry M nail polishes is that both of them are named after fruits in which they are similarly shaded to represent. For example, this mid-toned fuchsia pink is called 'Grapefruit', because the shade represents that of the inside of a grapefruit. It makes sense really, don't you think? It's super cute as well! Seeing as it's part of the 'Gelly Hi Shine' range, it really does have a beautiful shine to it, particularly when the light hits your nails and I think that's definitely something that all nail polishes should have, but not all of them do, which makes this one extra special. I think that this shade in particular is also perfect for this time of year, because it just adds that pop of pink and I mean, who doesn't love pretty pink nails?!

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint - Mango - One of the brightest nail polish shades that you could go for is a mango orange, so I thought I'd give you all the chance to be a bit risky, hence why I've included this beauty for you all to feast your eyes upon! It's actually a lot brighter and darker than how it's coming up in the photo, but I mean, the camera never really does anything's true beauty any justice, does it? I understand that orange might not be for everyone, but if you're looking to take a risk or if you're on the hunt for the perfect orange to get you through the Spring and Summer, then I would highly suggest that you check this one out, as it really is too pretty to pass the chance up! It has the same shiny effect, which is similar to the 'Grapefruit' shade, so I'm sure that I'll be wearing this a lot more during these next few months!

Just in case you're wondering, all Barry M Nail Paints are £3.99 and available in pretty much any store, but most commonly supermarkets and Boots/Superdrug!

Have you tried any Barry M Nail Paints before? What springtime shades do you like?

Boutique Of Molly Collaboration

About a week ago, I was contacted by the online fashion company 'Boutique Of Molly'. This is the first time that I have been contacted by a brand, so naturally, I was incredibly flattered at the offer. After messaging them back and forth for a few days and receiving an email highlighting the terms of working with them, I decided to take a look at their website to see what I would like to purchase for myself.

One of the first things that caught my attention was the 'Paisley' Print High Neck Playsuit. I literally fell in love with it as soon as I noticed it! Seeing as we are now entering the months, which are more welcome to the warmer weather, I thought that I'd purchase something that would be appropriate for my spring/summer wardrobe, whether I go on holiday or not.

As you can see from the fourth photo, the back of the playsuit ties up and creates a really flattering, girly effect, which I personally adore. I've never really worn anything that has this particular sort of back detail, so that intrigued me even more if I'm honest. When I first put the playsuit on, I wasn't too sure how I was meant to get it on and off, due to the tied up back, but the idea is that you slip it on whilst it's untied and then once it's on, you can tie it up after that to create the desired effect. You get used to it after you have tried it on once, trust me! I really do think that this is such a lovely piece for this time of year. You can really dress it up or keep it casual and relaxed, so it's pretty much perfect for any occasion! I think the pattern is gorgeous. It's so bright and abstract, but it isn't too dramatic to the point where people may shy away from wearing it. It's ever so comfortable whilst it's on, whether you're walking about, sitting down or anything else.
The quality of this playsuit is also insane. It's made of 100% viscose, which essentially feels like cotton and it also has an inner lining, which is made of 100% polyester and I'm glad that it has the lining, because it helps you to feel extra secure and protected, especially if it's windy outside. There are 2 sets of straps, which I would also say is a positive feature and it looks even nicer when it's on too. It would look beautiful on anyone, as it's versatile to go with any skin tone, so you really can't go wrong with it.

I'm absolutely overjoyed with the choice that I made to purchase this playsuit and I would definitely recommend 'Boutique Of Molly' to anybody of any age. Their website is incredibly easy and hassle free to work with, whilst the layout is elegant, yet simple.
The products are all displayed on a model, which I think is lovely, because you can get a realistic look on how each item would look on an actual person. They offer rapid next day delivery and they also ship worldwide. How can you say no to all of this?! I actually had my item the next day and I kept in contact with them on social media, so I felt very pleased with their attitude and the way that they treat all of their customers.

They are just like a brand that you would find on the high street, as I personally think that they are very affordable for what they offer, but I think that the quality is so much more than what you would find on the high-street! They really are an amazing brand, which offer something for everyone. I just know that you will all find something you love!

Please do go and check them out, because I can assure you, you won't regret it!

The Stripped Down Challenge

Since seeing one of my fellow blogging girlies Kate do this post a couple of weeks ago, I thought that I'd give it a whirl myself. If you don't already know, the stripped down challenge is a challenge that has been floating around on YouTube for quite a while now. The whole purpose is to film for 10 minutes straight with no music, no cuts, no editing, nothing. People typically talk about topics that they feel are important or need to be discussed, so that their viewers can see what their honest thoughts are. Similarly to Kate, I haven't seen any other bloggers do this challenge, but seeing as she gave it a go, I thought that I might as well too, because I did find her post incredibly interesting and insightfgul. I'm literally just going to be typing for as long as I can and I'm going to be as honest as I can whilst doing so. I don't really know what I'm going to be talking about yet, so I guess we'll just have to see where it goes.
One of the things that comes to my mind straight away is social media. You may think that's a bit of an obvious thing to say, seeing as I'm literally typing away on it right now, but I'm thinking much more deeper into it than you may expect. If you have already read my last post, then you will know that I've now been blogging for over 1 year. I started this blog a month after my 14th birthday. To me, I feel as though it was something that I'd thought about for an incredibly long time, as I had been watching YouTube and reading other blogs for a while prior to this decision and then one of my friends came up with the idea that I should start writing my own blog, which kinda encouraged me to take the plunge and make the leap. Whatever phrase you use that floats your boat. At first, I didn't really know what I wanted to do with the whole blogging situation. Obviously, I was a newbie and none of my friends were really into all of that, so I felt quite lost and vulnerable, shall we say. I've made friends before and followed people on Instagram that are a few years older than me who had blogs and so I guess I just got inspiration from them and eventually, I started to experiment and find my own way through. I think that blogging is a very personal thing and we each have our little 'niche' so to speak.
Ever since I joined secondary school, which was almost 4 years ago now (wow, I feel olddd), I've become much more aware about social media and the effect that it can have on people. It's just that I feel people are so focused on the negative things that they don't actually give themselves a chance to look for the positives. I'm fully aware that it isn't all sunshine and rainbows. When you start a blog or a Youtube channel, you technically do become a lot more vulnerable to hate, trolls, judgement and all of that rubbish stuff. But, who's to say there isn't more positives to outweigh all of them negatives? Social media is an incredible thing. I briefly touched upon this in my previous post, but it really, truly is. I have made so many wonderful friends through the internet and although they live quite far away from me and I may have never met them, I feel like I've known them for a lifetime. As young people, our parents always tell us to be wary of social media and to keep our lives private and to only share information with people that we know very, very well. I feel like blogging and YouTube challenge those ideas. Yes, it can be very dangerous and yes, you may get the occasional piece of hate, but for every hateful comment or for every troll that tries taunting you through the screen, you will receive many more comments saying that you have changed someone's life or that you have made them smile and given them hope. Even though the internet is a scary place when you first open yourself up to it, you shouldn't want to hide yourself from the other side of it, which is where I'm speaking to you from. I believe that I'm a part of the lovely, kind side. I believe that I'm a part of the side where everyone supports each other and everyone is sensitive when expressing their thoguhts and opinions. I have seen the nasty side of the internet. I have experienced times in my life where I have been subjected to constant hate on social media sites. But, I'm now involved in this life-changing community where people appreciate me for who I am and they try to bring out the best in me. If we use the internet in the right way, it can quite literally change people's perceptions on the way that they view themselves, the way that they feel about their lives and the way that they treat other people. It's something quite magical really. Blogging and YouTube are two very personal, creative outlets where people choose to express themselves by doing what they love in the hope that some other people will find a love for those things too.
We all have the power to change the world. We all have the opportunity to make someone smile. We should all want to use that power and that opportunity to our greatest advantage. We should want to prove to the older generations that social media isn't all as bad as it seems and there is actually a genuine good side to it that they may not see.

1 Year Blogging Anniversary

(image was taken off Google)
Today is an incredibly special day. It has officially been 1 year since I started writing here on my own little corner of the internet, also known as Simply Jadey. I've posted 124 times, gained 111 followers and had 9,664 views in total since the second I hit 'publish' on my very first post. Isn't that an absolutely astonishing thought? I mean, it blows my mind every time I think about how far I've come and how much has gone on since then.
I'd like to start off by saying thank you to each and every single one of you. As I look back over the year that's passed whilst I've been blogging, I honestly feel nothing but gratitude and happiness at the fact that I've had this opportunity. Whether you have been supportive of my blog and everything that I've posted since the very first second, or whether you found my blog a couple of hours ago at random, I really can't thank you enough. I always read every comment I get and I do my very best to reply to all of the sweet things that you say. They really do make me so incredibly happy.
Blogging has brought so much joy to my life. Ever since I began, I have never looked back and I have never regretted a single second. I couldn't ever imagine being without it now - it's like my little baby! For me, it isn't about the views, the followers or anything else that's to do with numbers or money. It's about helping people and changing the world, one smile at a time. If I can even comfort just one person through one blog post, then that's enough for me. It means that all the time and effort I put in has been worthwhile. I feel so proud to be able to call myself a part of such a wonderful, supportive, caring community. The friends that I have made throughout the past year are genuine, true friends that I love with all my heart and I really do get on with them as though I have known them my entire life. I couldn't feel anymore blessed or anymore honoured if I tried. I'm so proud of the fact that I put my all into each and every post and I reply to every single comment and message that I receive. Everybody within my personal life is so incredibly lovely and kind about the fact that I have a blog and even if they don't fully understand what blogging is all about, they never make me feel like I'm being judged for doing something that I love. I've done pretty much everything independently when it comes to my blogging journey thus far. I don't often ask for that much help and although I try to include others by asking them if they have any requests and asking them for their opinion occasionally, I do like to do most other things myself. I feel as though blogging is very much an independent hobby and that's why I am even prouder of how far I have come, because I've done it without all that much guidance.
None of my 'real life friends' have a blog. They don't really read many others either. They watch YouTube videos, but they aren't as heavily involved in blogging. But, they are so, so supportive when it comes to my blog. I couldn't ask for a better support system if I'm honest. Even though my loved ones may not blog themselves and they may not have that much free time to actually settle down and read what I have to say, they still read my posts when they get the chance and they still congratulate me on any achievements and always praise me when I tell them something that has made me smile. I really couldn't wish for anything better than that. Some of my close friends and my sister follow my blog and I love it when they tell me that they enjoyed reading a particular post or when they ask what day I'm posting next. It really does make me smile. I've made a close group of blogging friends as well and they all have genuine hearts of gold. They always give feedback, they always show love and appreciation, they are always willing to help out, and they never, ever have a bad word to say either. This is why I feel I need to thank each and every one of you. Whether I know you personally or not, I truly am so, so grateful. I can't put into words how grateful I actually am! Making the decision to actually start my blog has been the best decision of my entire life. And I am beyond glad that I made it.
Once again, thank you all so, so much for being right by my side throughout this journey. Every comment, compliment, message and text means the absolute world to me. I love being able to make people smile, give them hope and help them just through writing a couple of times a week on the internet. It just goes to show what an amazing world we live in. Technology and social media can change lives. I want to make sure its for the better.
I love you all so much and I hope you continue to stick by me right through to April 5th 2017 and to every year beyond that. We are all part of the Simply Jadey family. And, as long as we all stick together, nothing is impossible.
Lots of love always,

Spring Has Sprung: How To Style Dungarees

Outfit 1:
Crop Top // Topshop

Flower Crown // New Look
Dungarees // New Look
Pink Trainers // New Look

Outfit 2:
Peter-Pan Collar T-Shirt // New Look
Trainers // White Converse
Bracelets // New Look

Now that Spring is officially here, I thought that I'd start off the month by posting a lookbook, which shows you 2 different ways that you can style dungarees. I've done plenty of fashion posts before, but I don't think I've ever done one which is more like a lookbook, so this is something that's quite new to me! Most of the items that I'm wearing are actually from New Look, which isn't a surprise as it's my favourite clothing store after all, but next time, I am going to try and vary the places that I purchase my clothes from, just so that it's a bit more interesting for all of you who are reading. I absolutely adore wearing dungarees at this time of year. I think that they're one of the most versatile pieces of clothing, because you can literally wear them with anything. In the first look, I decided to pair them with a plain crop top and a floral crown, but I made sure that the trainers I was wearing added a pop of colour and then for the second outfit, I decided to try an alternative look by keeping my trainers quite simple, but then I added a pop of collar through my floral peter-pan collar shirt. I always wear my dungarees during the months where the weather is starting to get a little warmer and I can always find something for them to go with, which is great! If you don't already own any dungarees, then you're definitely missing out, but hopefully this post has convinced you that you need to go and find the perfect pair for you!

Lots of love,

Jade x
