5 Ways To Make Yourself Feel Better

 
Within today's society, we have all become so wrapped up in our everyday lives, and what's going on either around us, or on the internet that we forget to take time out to make ourselves feel better. So many people battle with mental illnesses, and feelings of very little self-esteem, or confidence, so I thought that I should do this post to try, and help some of you who are struggling, as my way of reaching out.
 
It's so important that we all take a little time out every once in a while, and put our emotional wellbeing first, as it can really make such a massive impact to the way we feel. I tend to struggle with finding ways to make myself feel better when I'm going through a particularly low, or self-conscious stage, and so I thought that as well as hopefully helping some of you, I can also help myself in the process. These are just a few little tips that I'm going to be talking about today, but I hope that you find them helpful none-the-less!
 
1. Have a pamper evening - I don't just mean have a bath, and maybe put on a face mask. I mean, literally full on pamper yourself! Have a really bubbly bath (using a Lush product, of course!), light some candles, put on a face mask, a hair mask, exfoliate your skin, and body, have a mug of hot chocolate, with marshmallows, and wiped cream, and allow yourself to completely unwind. Read a book, or watch some movies under a bunch of blankets, draw, paint, write some blog posts. Just do whatever you want that helps you to forget about anything else going on, and focus on that particular moment. You could even try some yoga, meditation, or even mindfulness if you really felt that you wanted to!
 
2. Spend time doing what you enjoy - Whether it's photography, baking, reading, singing, or something else. It's important to spend time doing the things that you enjoy, and the things that make you happy. I really enjoy baking, reading, photography, and writing whenever I have some time to myself (I love singing too, but I do that whenever!), and I find that doing all of those things make me feel relaxed, and happy, so that's why I try to do them when I need time to unwind. You could try to do each thing once a week, or at least once every month. Then follow up with a pamper evening. What a perfect plan!
 
3. Go outdoors a little more often - Going outdoors to get some fresh air is always a really beneficial option, particularly if you have a lot on your mind. As I'm sure most of you know, I'm a really keen photographer, and I always take whatever opportunity I get. Sometimes all you need is a casual stroll to clear your mind, and get some fresh air. You would be surprised at how much of a difference it can make to your emotional wellbeing.
 
4. Surround yourself with the people who make you feel happy - Even though the main post of this post is targeted at how to make yourself feel better, I also believe that it's important to surround yourself with positive, uplifting people, who support you, and your decisions. If you allow yourself to associate with toxic, harmful people, then you will end up harming yourself more than you realise in the long run.
 
5. Put yourself first, always - Leading on from my previous point, it's important that you always put yourself first, regardless of what's going on in your life. If something, or someone makes you unhappy, then cut it, or them off. You have to do what you want, and what's best for you. At the end of the day, you are the one who has your own back, and it's vital that you focus on the person that you truly are, so you can avoid getting hurt. Don't allow people to make you feel worthless, or upset. Follow your dreams, and do whatever it takes to build an amazing life for yourself. Dream. Believe. Achieve.
