10 Things That Make Me Happy

Considering the fact that I'm a positivity enthusiast, it's kinda crazy knowing that I haven't actually done many positivity focused posts. I'd like to try and incorporate them into my blog a little bit more, just because it's something that I enjoy writing about, and I feel like it would be beneficial to many people too. Today I'm going to be talking about 10 things that make me happy. I'm sure that there are way more than just 10 things that make me happy, but I thought that I'd start off with a smaller number, so that you can all get some ideas as to what things may be able to make you happy, or bring joy to your life. Let me know in the comments below what your top 10 things are! Now, let's jump into it..

1. Taking photographs - I don't just love taking photographs, but I also love looking at photos, both my own, and other peoples, and knowing that I'm capturing precious memories that will last a lifetime makes me so happy. I always try to take photos at any chance I get, not just for the purposes of my blog, but for myself, and my loved ones too. Whenever something particularly special, or nice happens, I usually try to document it by taking a quick snap of it. Memories can last forever, if they are remembered, and treasured. I have a mini memory box that I've got quite a collection of little bits, and bobs in, including stacks of precious pictures, and general sentimental keepsakes. I don't have that much in it, but I hope to build it up, so that I can always look back on the times that made me the happiest. Memories never change over time, even if certain people do.

2. Writing - I think that this is a bit of an obvious one, don't you? I've mentioned it numerous times here on my blog, but really, I can't ever mention the things that make me happy enough. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved everything to do with reading, and writing. There's just something about those two things that fill me with such immense joy. I have an incredibly wild imagination, I absolutely adore reading books, and I also love creative writing, whatever the sort. I do love writing as a whole, so both English Language, and English Literature, but particularly English Language, as it allows me to express my thoughts, and it also lets my creativity, and imagination flow at the same time. It would be an absolute dream of mine if I could write my own book some day, or maybe even more than one. I'm not sure if I'd write a fiction, or a non-fiction, but I know that I'd want to influence the way that other people view reading, and I'd also like to help people, so hopefully that dream will come true some day. Who knows?

3. Christmas - It's the most wonderful time of the year. It really, truly is. I don't think that anything could ever compare to Christmas, if I'm honest. Everything about it is just incredible. It's such a special day for me, and I know that I'm not the only person in the world who thinks so either. The decorations, the atmosphere around the streets, and in peoples homes, the warmth, and joy that everyone seems to be experiencing, and the actual day itself. There's so much love, and happiness around this time of year, and I find it so comforting, and special. I have loved Christmas ever since I was a little girl, and even as I get older each year, I still make it out to be just as big of a deal as I did previously. It only happens once every 12 months, and I think that's what makes it even more special when it comes around to the lead up itself. I wrapped all of the Christmas presents that I had bought by the time it was the end of November! I love being able to treat the people that I care about the most, and I find it so touching when I can tell that they have clearly thought about what gifts I'd appreciate receiving in return too.

4. Music - Yep. I'm talking about music again. I don't really think that a day goes by where I don't listen to some kind of music. Whether it's on the radio when I'm on my way to, and from school, or whether it's before I go to bed, or even whilst I'm writing up a blog post for all of you. I just bloody love music. If I had to pick some current favourites, then you can find out what they would be on my recent music discoveries post! I also love singing, so I guess you could say that's another passion of mine actually.

5. Shopping - What girl doesn't love shopping? I mean, seriously. Everyone loves shopping (that's what I think anyway), but I'm a serious shopaholic. If I see something that I like, or I feel that it would suit me, I just instantly convince myself that I need it. I don't know why I'm like that, because it's actually quite a bad habit, but I guess that's just the way it is, and I don't have a problem with buying new things, except when I become skint, I don't really think anyone is too pleased with me, if I'm honest. On the positive side, I end up with lovely, new things, and all of you get to benefit as I can recommend things - it's a win-win situation! Apologies to my purse..

6. Family & Friends - I'm a very lucky girl in the sense that I'm surrounded by some incredible people. My family always manage to crack some sort of joke whenever we're all together, and we are a pretty crazy bunch, so that's something that occurs very often! I always enjoy going out shopping with the ladies, or going out for meals all together, and we just always have a nice time. As for my friends, I honestly wouldn't be where I am without them. The small selection that I have, I know that I can trust them with anything, and everything, as they are always there to support every decision, and choice that I make. They can always cheer me up, and put a smile on my face, when things in my world are looking kinda bleak. And, if you're reading Charlie, (which you probably are!), then you come into this message too stinky, don't you worry! Thank you all for everything that you do, and for constantly motivating, and loving me. It means the world.

7. Sunshine - Something that we don't get very often in the UK is sunshine, and warm weather. I'm the sort of person who gets incredibly hot, incredibly quickly, but I do love feeling the warmth from the sunshine on me. When I was on holiday in the summer, I got such a lovely tan, and I spent a good few days in a row sunbathing. I hate sweating, and I hate getting too hot, as I normally just feel pain then, but the sun makes everything look 10 times prettier, and it puts everyone in a better mood, without a doubt.

8. YouTube & Blogging - I've been watching YouTube videos since I was 9 years old. That's a whole 5 years of my life that I have spent the majority of my free time on the internet. I started off by watching all of the typical beauty gals, such as Sammi Maria, Zoe Sugg, Sara Walker, Grace Victory, Louise Pentland, Tanya Burr, and then I discovered many other vloggers later on. I have been reading blogs for as long as I can remember too, but I've gotten into them a lot more within the past year, and a half. I've also now had my own blog for 9 months, and I honestly couldn't have made a better decision. I think I started it at exactly the right time, and I've honestly come so far already. I'm only 14, but I hope to continue writing here at Simply Jadey for many years to come. I have already learnt so much within the past few months as it is, and over the next year, I hope to continue improving my posts, and I also hope to build up more of a community. Blogging has become such a huge part of my life, and I feel so honoured to be a part of such an amazing network. Thank you so much to all of you who have supported me, and taken the time to read my posts. It really does mean a lot, honestly. All I want to do is help people, and knowing that I'm already getting closer towards that dream makes me feel so happy.

9. Food & Drinks - Oh my goodness. Food. The love of my life. Pancakes, pizza, chocolate, pasta, sweets, cake, cheese, fruit, ice-cream, bread - it's all so damn good! And drinks. Milkshakes, juice, fizzy drinks, flavoured water, energy drinks - everything. Although I can be quite a fussy eater at times, especially when I go out for meals, I am a complete, and utter foodie. I could eat, and eat for days on end, even when I'm not particularly hungry. I'm actually a terrible cook, but that's something that I hope to work on in the future!

10. Adventures - We live in such an incredible world that I think it would be such a shame if we didn't explore as many corners of it as we possibly could. Life is honestly so short, and nobody even knows when they may have reached the end of their time of this Earth, so I think it's much more important if we make the most of it while we still can. I love visiting new places, and discovering things that I haven't ever come across before. There's something so fascinating about the whole experience. Whether it's a completely different country, town, city, park, or anything else. I just love going on adventures. I'm also an adrenaline junkie. Although I'm a very anxious person, I absolutely adore the feeling of receiving an adrenaline rush! I want to sky dive, paraglide, parasail, jetski, and do everything else that can give me an adrenaline rush. This also links to the fact that I hope to travel all over the world someday. It's such a beautiful place, and there's so much that each continent has to offer that I haven't had the chance to experience yet.

Leave me a list of 10 things that make you happy! Let's all be positive, shall we? :)

Lots of love,

Jade x
